RESUMO

This work begins with the development of one isoparametric triangular quadratic element, considering the analysis of plate and shell starting from their mid-surfaces. This formulation proves itself efficient by its simplicity and mainly by the possibility of considering the effect of shear stresses along the thickness of the element. Afterwards, is shown starting from the isoparametric element, one hierarchical formulation based upon the concept of the approximation of type p. The formulation results in an interesting computational system, being that in one reanalysis obtained through the refinement of type p, all the results found before may be reutilized. It is shown immediately, various examples of application of the formulation and its results for plates, shells and beams with many configurations of loading and contour conc1uding, principally, that a developed hierarchical formulation is able to diminish a characteristic of excessive stiffness, found, particularly in situations of thin plates and shells
