RESUMO

During the last century, contemporary society went through profound economic and social transformations, specially in the field of work. Mass phenomena intensified, and a new perception took root, with regard to the defense of collective interests, the so-called meta-individual rights. When collective values are unjustifiably disregarded we speak of collective moral damage. By describing how the theory of damage and civil responsibility developed, the present dissertation tries to identify situations of collective moral damage, as they diffusely occur in the word of work. A reflection is also made on the objective responsibility of employers for the violation of meta-individual rights of workers, so that ways can be found to guarantee respect for the constitutional principle of human person dignity
