RESUMO

Comics are indispensable, expressive visual objects for communication and information because they have followed the cultural process of humanity since its beginning. Comics also exist because the technology made them possible. The scientificparadigm has changes from classic Cartesians to quantum, transforming the interaction between man and reality, from a pragmatic objectivity to a probabilistic, non-linear, complex and systemic intersubjectivity. Besides, cognitive researches by computerized tomographies amplified the knowledge about the brain, indicating that the neuroplastic mind functions in three ways: the center brain is pragmatic; the left is rational and the right is intuitive, for a better balance. Thanks to computerized tomographies it is now known that the images are read as distint information by the right hemisphere, while phonemes are read by the left one. The traditional teaching supports the classic, linear and fragmented physics, with the written scientific papers stimulating the left brain, while they disregard the right side by not using drawings. Considering these presuppositions, this research aimed to show the importance and need of comics as a language full of informational expressions that can help to change this paradigm, opening theoretical references to authenticate their educational, cultural and communicational value, and to show hw comics can serve the purpose of creating a systemic education, specially in universities. Besides that, the research also had the objective of making comics more visible to mature people, encouraging them to know more about graphic novels that may be used with the traditional and theoretical books. It also recommends some scientific comics to academic people, emphasizing their fields os application in higher education.
