RESUMO

The objective of this Thesis is to study performance of the Linear Induction Motors, by means of a the electric equivalent circuit which take into account all phenomena involved with this family of machines. To make possible the determination of a factor for correction of the effect due to the finite length of primary stack, the machine is studied through one-dimension model which present the behavior of the electromagnetic field in the air gap. Other correction factors are presented and discussed. The electric circuit parameters are calculated using a model from rotary induction machines and the necessary corrections factors are inserted in the electric equivalent circuito To simulate the machine performance a computational program is developed to calculate the thrust, efficiency and power factor and the results are compared with those obtained from tests of the prototype
