RESUMO

In the present research were utilized five soils profiles with differents types of saprolites of the São Paulo State. In special studied yours saprolites, characterizing physical, chemical and mineralogy, for verify the differences existing in yours organizations, constitutions and management and establish a better understanding of importance of saprolite in taxonomy of soil and agricultural capacity of soils. Were tested the operationality toe of concepts of lithic and paralithic contacts in soils of thickness and varied saprolite material. Were used routine chemicals analysis, penetrometer resistance, shaking test, hand digging test, cracks and root distribution, routine physical analysis and clay mineralogy. Verified great physical, chemical and mineralogical difference between the saprolites distincts; these suggest which they would be classified with proper denominations in agreement with inherent characteristic. The approved criteria for the identification of the lithic and paralithic contacts show not conformity as to yours results, needing improvement for field identification
