RESUMO

The present work aimed to investigate the reality of a public school for an elementary and a high school, in Itupeva, a small town in Sao Paulo with a focus on tests applied to the high school third graders. High school represents an important period of youth, aims to prepare students for the labor market, for university education and citizens training for life in society. But such importance has been questioned given the conditions offered by public educational policies throughout Brazilian history. The survey and analysis of internal and external evaluations that occur annually in Escola Estadual Padre Josà de Anchieta understood one of the main objects of this survey to know the individuals involved - third grade students - the ratings of the school, bearing in mind the need to think about these subjects as part of the agents capable of transforming it. This work reflects the extent to which evaluations are perceived as relevant to School. The methodological approach involved the research of primary sources and the analysis of theoretical and documentary material, and the case study through a qualitative and quantitative approach. Despite the importance given to evaluation by the school through a unified system, it has centered on the grade, and qualifying, focusing on the promotion of the student. Similarly, external evaluations are centered on individual student performance, committing to results reflect on the quality of education. However, this has been the challenge of this educational institution, which helps to think a larger field of knowledge, which is the public High School Education in Brazil.
