RESUMO

Nowadays, the Brazilian basic sanitation is passing trough studies for companies modernization which are responsible for water services and sewerage system of regions, states and cities to map, identify the quality level, magnitude and efficiency of these services. This dissertation have determined the technical efficiency grade of 26 basic sanitation stateâs companies, trough DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) methodology, which is based in mathematics programming procedures and make possible to get the efficiency non-parametric edge. The chosen procedure, for achieve a satisfactory result, was the application of Analyst Frontier Software, with goal of efficiency evaluation. On this way, it is presented a subject and goals overview followed by a detailed analysis of the Brazilian sanitation division, production edges and productive efficiency. To achieve these targets, it have been chosen the models to be used, the sample, inputs and outputs for application in the sanitationâs companies. Finally it is showed the efficiency results got from DEA models, which were analyzed in accordance with placement criteria, scale feedback and technical metrics. In general, the basic sanitation stateâs companies have presented good results in the two used DEA models, but it could be observed that the non-technical efficiency was higher than non-scale efficiency
