Assistencialism in the social politics of Brazil in years 90. / Assistencialismo nas políticas sociais do Brasil nos anos 90.

RESUMO

The method of production in capitalism caused great social transformations in the last quarter of the twentieth century. These transformations were driven by the neoliberal thought that caused the productive restructering and orientation of the capitalist State based in the diagnostic of the crisis limited itself to a financial crisis of the state, therefore, the necessity of economical, political, financial, socials reforms etc, aiming to reach a financial equilibrium. In Brazil, these directions occured deeper in the 90s, with a focus on social politics. In this work, searching to understand the direction and the nature of such politics in the referred decade, starting from bibliographic review of the contemporary conception of capitalism in relation to social questions, aiming to understand the adopted options by the Brazilian State. Taking as a base the analisis that the State in not in crisis and there is a wider crisis that affects the capitalism system, the emphasis given to the assistant social politics can be better understood.
