RESUMO

This research has emerged from my experiences, as a teacher, in the discipline of differential integral calculus and the readings about the topics that broach the difficulties and guiding directions of teaching. Thus, based on the Theory of Meaningful Learning concepts and the Advanced Mathematical Thinking and Visual-Spatial Thinking, we present a proposal of for teaching and learning for this discipline concerned with studies of real functions of two variables and graphs in IR3 , aided by the use of a computer. The methodology was put into practice in a math undergraduate course class under the discipline Cálculo II and presented a qualitative character, supported by the methodological aspects of teaching experiments. The methods used to collect data were: The classroom observations, math achievement tests, supported by a software, and interviews. The Data - guided by the questioning contributions that a software, combined with activities, could provide for teaching and learning graphs and surfaces in IR3 - pointed out some factors, among them, the one such that the interactions of new information with prior knowledge and learner / apprentice and apprentice / teacher played a key role in a possible, meaningful learning in IR3 graphics.
