RESUMO

ABSTRACT This text approaches the history and roots of cooperatives (in the most different industries) and their evolutive and labour processes. It also deals with the conception and evolution of Brazilian law concerning cooperatives, as well as their legal nature, objectives, principles and features. After outlining the material features which rule the aforementioned cooperatives, we present the legal consequences related to the issue, specially towards the institutions that regulate and inspect it. There will be particular emphasis on the work done by Prosecutors - their acting methods both in inquest and legal prosecutions. It is rather important to stress that this dissertation was based on day-by-day practices and on the view and approach of legal apparatus.
