RESUMO
The work deals with dynamic effects analysis in big reservoirs, having as case study the Sobradinho reservoir. From the generation of numerical model of the land using database of the SRTM-90 (Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission, in cooperation of NASA, NIMA, DLR and ASI), tools created by Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI) for hydrodynamic simulations had been applied, the MIKE 11 HD. This model was integrated with the MIKE 11 GIS tool and with a Geographic Information System, with the purpose to compose Decision Support System (SSD). With this SSD use is possible the simulation of hydrodynamic processes and water balance in the lake, as well as the flooded area at any time, helping the decision for the multiple water uses as: energy generation, flood control, irrigation and other uses. As ampler result of the research, it looks for significant reduction of forecast errors that are usual for operation of complex systems as Sobradinho, the most important reservoir of CHESFâs System, responsible for the plurianual regularization of the SÃo Francisco river, with 2.060 m3/s supplied to the hydropower system. It is expected that this work brings significant contribution to the knowledge technician, for the best operation of so important water system for the Northeast region
