RESUMO

In this paper, in general, understand the rurality as roughness, down from agriculture into urban areas in the city of Recife, in their socio-spatial dynamics; to contribute to the recognition of the importance of inclusion of this activity in planning. So, specifically, has been the aim of pointing the factors of social relevance of the activities of urban agriculture in the city, identifying the roles of agriculture in the dynamic socio-spatial place and reflect on the significance of the potential complementarities between the urban and rural in Recife. The urban agriculture, is an activity with multiple features, since it serves, while the survival of groups of poor people in the city, and to supply the social groups most economically advantaged. So the notion that agriculture should be considered, taking account of determinants that influence the reality: the type of economic activity, location of activity, types of sites used for this purpose, system and scale of production, distribution and types of products. This work was performed by a routine that begins with a bibliography, with research work related to the theoretical framework and the characterization of the geographical area under study. After the problem was defined to be addressed and the concepts and categories of analysis that became the conceptual basis for the search. From there were readings of more work specific to each issue to be addressed. From fieldwork and survey aerophotogrametric using the electronic program Google Earth, were identified as areas of usage and the types of urban agriculture produced in the city of Recife. Subsequently, plotted are the points where the activity is developed and mapped it using the software arcgis / Arcmap. The urban agriculture with its gears allows the execution of flows that show, too, strong ties between the countryside and the city. Thus, this form of producing and using geographic space can only be seen by staff management and planning of our cities. Because the AU has already built and articulated gears whose features are inherent in the process is permanent reproduction of urban space in the world. The urban agriculture in Recife think it is integrated into the urban system, and not only by their location in urban or peri, but because of producing to meet the interests of people living in the city.
