RESUMO
Educational question was always subject of debate among Portuguese intellectuals around 18th and 19th centuries. A lot of intellectuals propose to write and reflect concerning formal education in Portugal, however, practice has done a small matter when the intellectual started to think about new theory. In the 18th century, Ribeiro Sanches and Luís António Verney showed some ideologies that exercised a great influence on the actions of Marquês de Pombal, therefore they provoke expulsion of Jesuits from Portugal. In the 19th century, a lot of another intellectuals introduced educational proposal, such as Mouzinho de Albuquerque, Passos Manuel, Castilho, Garrett, Herculano etc., but its important to remember the contribution of group of Conferências do Casino that have like target, other things, the educational reform. From here Eça de Queirós registers his contribute when he discourses about a new literary style and, right away he shows in As Farpas his criticism about Portuguese education, criticism that receive an other face on text Um gênio que era um santo Antero de Quental, on O francesismo, and on chronicle send to Gazeta de Notícias of Rio de Janeiro. Therefore, the papers target is, fundamentally, to analyze printing press by Eça de Queirós which hás had Portuguese educational debate as main thematic. Then, we will analyze the documents organized on Uma Campanha Alegre (das Farpas: 1871 1872), published in two volumes, 1890-1891; after that, we Will analyze the texts had published on Gazeta de Notícias from Rio de Janeiro (1880 - 1897), afterwards organized on collection Cartas de Inglaterra (1905), Ecos de Paris (1905), Cartas Familiares e Bilhetes de Paris (1907), besides Prefácio às Aquarelas by João Diniz (1880) and O francesismo, article found among authors documents, it published posthumously in 1912 on Ultimas Páginas.
