RESUMO

This work has the main objective of analyzing the side effects caused by the localization of the petrochemical plants distant from consuming market, on the logistics of distribution and competitiveness. The changes in the national petrochemical industry and the insertion of Rio de Janeiros plants on the operation shall increase the southwest market dispute, which is responsible for 60% of the Gross Internal Product - GIP, what it will probably cause an increase on the disadvantage situation of Camaçaris cluster, situated 2000 km from this market. This project shows the influences of a companys localization on the logistics and competitiveness, based on the study of a case in the petrochemical industry of Camaçari, under the logistics and supply chains theories in the global competition. The results not only reveals the influences of the distance from the main consuming market on the cluster, but also can contribute for a better diagnostic model of the logistics process and point out alternatives way to make better services and increase the efficiency on the companiess logistics.
