A formação do profissional enfermeiro :o gerenciamento de resíduos de serviço de saúde na educação ambiental

RESUMO

The environmental education in the Professional Formation of the Nurse is a descriptive exploratory study of qualitative approach with the main aim of verifying, from the analysis of the Environmental Health subject of the nursing course, the contribution of the this subject in the initial formation of the nurse in relation to the residues of health services. The research includes the students outlook of the last year of nursing course, concerning the problem of having residues of health services in the related subject. It also includes the nursing teachers outlook about the hospital residues in the different scopes of the process of nursing formation. They had been acting as subjects of this research, teachers and students of Nursing course of two superior education institutions of Ponta Grossa and Curitiba cities, state of Paraná. Half-structuralized interview, focalised group and document analysis composed the data. It was analysed by the Bardin Content Analysis technique. The results showed that, for the professors and students, the education of the residues content needs to change, because both showed insufficient knowledge for the handling of the RSS; the nursing teachers expressed the necessity to articulate the residues process in their discipline during the initial formation of the nurse. The study revealed that the residues approach in Environmental Health subject could bring changes to the teaching learning process of nursing courses.
