RESUMO
This research was developed to investigate conception of Licentiateship in Music at Parana Faculty (FAP) graduation course and the implication on the music teacher formation. This graduation course has been founded in 2003, when the previous course of Artistic Education-Music Qualification was reformulated in its curriculum matrix, which graduate the last group of students in 2005. Case study was the methodological approach used in this research, where several interviews were performed among Licentiateship in Music teachers, and respective graduation students entered in 2003. Those interviews were developed during 2007 scholarship year. In parallel, an extensive evaluation on the official documents of Pedagogic Project (2002 and 2006) and Curriculum Replacement Project (2002) were also realized. In order to subsidize a historical support in this research, a general briefing on traditional, nova, technicist, and progressive pedagogic tendencies were discussed, and were also considered its implication on the music teaching, as well as, a reflection about music teacher formation, based on the progressive authors (Freire and Saviani) and Alda Oliveira. The curriculum matrix reformulation occurred at the Licentiateship in Music was discussed in relation the Artistic Education course. The field study has shown that there is a predominant philosophical-pedagogic progressive tendency among teaching group, which is in agreement with Pedagogic Project orientation, whereof implications on the music teacher formation are in accordance with the same pedagogic project guidelines, as well as, by academic community desires. This study has also pointed out that the current reality and communicability among teaching group could be improved towards integration unity can bring benefits to the.
