RESUMO

The aim of this study was to check the concretion of legal attributes and ability of social worker employees from Social Work Department in Londrina´s city hall. To this intention, the 4´s and 5´s article, which discourse about private attributes and ability of social worker according to law 8.662/93, was subdivided in 5 groups, classifying the social work activities: management, experimental, researched, indefinite and evident. Our first conclusion was that the law which prescribes the social worker profession is resulting from the legitimacy and recognition of Social Work. The second point is as in the 4´s and 5´s article are concentrate the two first groups (management and experimental), in practice, it occurs at the same way. In third place, at daily life, the 4´s article competences are very often. Fourth, as higher is the position of social worker, and consequently, more responsibilities are attributed, higher will be the participation on decisions and professional autonomy. Fifth, as higher will be his professional experience, as higher will be his knowledge from his work, in a management perspective, especially about the social work. Sixth and last, the changing law proposal, starting to detail instruments, would be a degradation of what is already reached in Social Work legitimation. Even limited, we notice in this study that are a increasing knowledge, from professional, in the society requirement is about social policy and services management.
