2. Compatibility of Azospirillum brasilense and Pseudomonas fluorescens in growth promotion of groundnut ( Arachis hypogea L.)
ABSTRACT We attempted to study the compatibility among plant beneficial bacteria in the culture level by growing them near in the nutrient agar plates. Among all the bacteria tested, Rhizobium was found to inhibit the growth of other bacteria. From the compatible group of PGPR, we have selected one biofertilizer (Azospirillum brasilense strain TNAU) and one

Bacteria (MHB) and FMA interrelation : a strategy to stimulate the symbiotic efficiency and mycorrhizal of sabiá.

The region of the Table Lands Sergipano is characterized by intense intemperization, because the influence of the high regime of rainfall and conditions of high temperature, so that there are mainly changes in physical and chemical properties of soil. The search for productive and environmental sustainability in agroecosystems is necessary to measure indicat

8. SISTEMAS DE MANEJO E SUCESSÃO DE CULTURAS NA QUALIDADE DO SOLO NOS TABULEIROS COSTEIROS SERGIPANO / Systems management and succession of crops in soil quality in the Table Lands Sergipano

9. Concentration Dependencies of Some Effects of Ethylene on Etiolated Pea, Peanut, Bean, and Cotton Seedlings 1
The effects of a series of concentrations of ethylene (10, 20, 40, to 10,240 nl/l) on elongation, diameter, and geotropism of the stems and roots of etiolated seedlings of Pisum sativum L., Arachis hypogea L., Phaseolus vulgaris L., and Gossypium hirsutum L. were measured or observed. Of the 24 possible responses, 4 were unaffected at the concentrations used

10. Fermentation of Aqueous Plant Seed Extracts by Lactic Acid Bacteria
The effects of lactic acid bacterial fermentation on chemical and physical changes in aqueous extracts of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata), peanut (Arachis hypogea), soybean (Glycine max), and sorghum (Sorghum vulgare) were studied. The bacteria investigated were Lactobacillus helveticus, L. delbrueckii, L. casei, L. bulgaricus, L. acidophilus, and Streptococcus t

Preparations of TPN-linked nonreversible d-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (EC 1.2.1.9), free of TPN-linked reversible d-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase, have been obtained from green shoots, etiolated shoots, and cotyledons of pea (Pisum sativum), cotyledons of peanut (Arachis hypogea), and leaves of maize (Zea mays). The properties of the

12. Effect of lectins on hepatic clearance and killing of Candida albicans by the isolated perfused mouse liver.
The isolated perfused mouse liver model was used to study the effects of various lectins on hepatic trapping and killing of Candida albicans. After mouse livers were washed with 20 to 30 ml of perfusion buffer, 10(6) C. albicans CFU were infused into the livers. At the time of recovery, 63% +/- 2% (mean +/- standard error of the mean) of the infused C. albic
