2. Diagnóstico e fatores de risco associados à cisticercose bovina em matadouros sob inspeção federal e estadual, localizados no município de Colatina-ES / Epidemiologic diagnosis and risk factors associated to bovine cysticercosis in slaughterhouses under state and federal inspection, located in Colatina - ES

3. Levantamento epidemiológico do complexo teníase-cisticercose na zona rural do município de Viçosa-MG / Epidemiological survey of taeniasis-cysticercosis complex in the rural area of Viçosa-MG

4. Evaluation of the imunoblotting for the bovine cysticercosis diagnosis / Avaliação do imunoblot no diagnóstico da cisticercose bovina
The bovine cisticercosis is an illness caused by the larva of Taenia saginata called Cysticercus bovis. Recently the implementation of immunologic tests has been suggested as alternative for the diagnosis of the illness, amongst these tests the Immunoblotting, that basically detect antibodies in the serum. The present work objectives the evaluation of the Im

5. Cisticercose em animais abatidos em Sabáudia, Estado do Paraná
The aim of this work was to verify the occurrence of bovine and swine cysticercosis in animals slaughtered at the Abatedouro Municipal de Sabáudia, Paraná State. The number of daily-abated animals, the number of animals with cysticercus and the number and location of the cysticercus in the animals in a period of twelve months were collected. From 1046 swin

6. Utilization of Taenia crassiceps and Taenia solium metacestodes antigens in ELISA test for the diagnosis of bovine cysticercosis / Antígenos de larvas de Taenia crassiceps e Taenia solium em teste ELISA para diagnóstico da cisticercose bovina
This study was carried out with the purpose to develop an serological diagnosis protocol of bovine cysticercosis for the ELISA test using two metacestodes antigens of Taenia crassiceps and three of Taenia solium. There were used 20 sera of experimentally infected cattle with T. saginata eggs, 60 of cattle with natural infection, diagnosed at slaughterhouses,

7. Bovine cysticercosis: Preliminary observations on the immunohistochemical detection of Taenia saginata antigens in lymph nodes of an experimentally infected calf
A newly developed immunohistochemical test was used for the first time to demonstrate the presence of Taenia saginata (Cysticercus bovis) antigens in the lymph nodes of a heifer calf experimentally inoculated with Taenia saginata eggs. The new test should aid in the differential diagnosis of eosinophilic lymphadenitis in cattle.

8. Recovery of putative taeniid eggs from silt in water associated with an outbreak of bovine cysticercosis
Degenerate taeniid-like eggs consistent with Taenia saginata were recovered from sediment in the water supply of a beef feedlot under quarantine for Cysticercus bovis. Nine degenerate eggs in total were recovered from 482 modified flotation assays. Flotation controls of sediment spiked with known numbers of T. saginata eggs had poor egg recoveries, supportin

9. Enzyme-linked immunoelectrotransfer blot test for diagnosis of human hydatid disease.
Sera from 71 patients with surgically confirmed hydatid disease (which is caused by Echinococcus granulosus) were studied by an enzyme-linked immunoelectrotransfer blot (EITB) assay. Sera from patients either with other cestode infections or with another illness were used as controls. Results of the EITB test for hydatidosis were compared with those of the d
