2. Sulfonylurea resistance in Amaranthus hybridus from southern Brazil
ABSTRACT Amaranthus hybridus is a C4 broadleaf species widely spread across Brazilian agricultural territory. Recently, several herbicide resistance reports have been documented in southern Brazil, including the reports for enolpyruvilshikymate-3-phosphate (EPSPS)- and acetolactate-synthase (ALS)- inhibitors. The objective of this study was to confirm the ex

3. The role of intermittent continuous glucose monitoring in a successful outpatient transition from insulin to glibenclamide in a patient with transient neonatal diabetes
SUMMARY Neonatal diabetes mellitus (NDM) is a monogenic form of diabetes occurring mainly in the first 6 months of life. Approximately 30% of transient NDM (TNDM) cases will have an activating mutation in the KATP channel genes ABCC8 and KCNJ11. The majority of the patients with KCNJ11 mutations who are receiving insulin treatment can be transferred to treat

4. A Choline Chloride-Ethylene Glycol Deep Eutectic Solvent Based on Magnetic Polydopamine with Preconcentration and Determination for Sulfonylurea Herbicides in Water Samples
In this study, a novel deep eutectic solvent (DES) containing choline chloride and ethylene glycol was synthesized, and the magnetic polydopamine (PDA) was modified with this deep eutectic solvent to form Fe3O4@PDA-DES. Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometer were used to characterize the pro

5. Selectivity of registered pesticides for the corn crop on immature stages of Trichogramma pretiosum (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae)

6. Rates of Nicosulfuron Applied in Glyphosate-Tolerant and Sulfonylurea-Tolerant Soybean

7. Properties of the enzyme acetolactate synthase in herbicide resistant canola
ABSTRACT Mutations in the gene that encodes the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS), conferring plant resistance to ALS inhibitor herbicides, can reduce or inhibit enzymatic function. The objective of this work was to determine the functionality and kinetic characteristics of the enzyme ALS and evaluate the action of the herbicides imazapic (imidazolinone) an

8. Effect of sulfonylurea tribenuron methyl herbicide on soil Actinobacteria growth and characterization of resistant strains
ABSTRACT Repeated application of pesticides disturbs microbial communities and cause dysfunctions on soil biological processes. Granstar® 75 DF is one of the most used sulfonylurea herbicides on cereal crops; it contains 75% of tribenuron-methyl. Assessing the changes on soil microbiota, particularly on the most abundant bacterial groups, will be a useful a

9. Effects of monosulfuron-ester on metabolic processes of nitrogen-fixing cyanobacteria Anabaena flos-aquae and Anabaena azotica
Abstract Presence of the relatively new sulfonylurea herbicide monosulfuron-ester at 0.03-300 nmol/L affected the growth of two non-target nitrogen-fixing cyanobacteria (Anabaena flos-aquae and Anabaena azotica) and substantially inhibited in vitro Acetolactate synthase activity, with IC50 of 3.3 and 101.3 nmol/L for A. flos-aquae and A. azotica, respectivel

10. Effect of tobacco smoke on hydrogen sulfide-induced rat thoracic aorta relaxation
Levels of hydrogen sulfide (H2S), a gaseous signaling molecule, are reduced in the serum of individuals who smoke. We hypothesized that tobacco smoke influenced smooth muscle relaxation by decreasing H2S levels and this effect could also influence expression of cystathionine γ-lyase (CSE) and sulfonylurea receptor-2 (SUR-2). The aim of this study was to exp

11. Application of Solvent Demulsification-Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction Based on Solidification of Floating Organic Drop Coupled with High Perfomence Liquid Chromatography in Determination of Sulfonylurea Herbicides in Water and Soil
A method for simultaneous determination of nine sulfonylurea herbicides in water and soil samples with solvent demulsification-dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction based on solidification of floating organic drop coupled with high perfomence liquid chromatography was established. 120 µL of 1-dodecanol as extractant and 400 µL of methanol as dispersing

12. Permanent neonatal diabetes by a new mutation in KCNJ11: unsuccessful switch to sulfonylurea
Permanent neonatal diabetes (PNDM) can result from activating heterozygous mutations in KCNJ11 gene, encoding the Kir6.2 subunit of the pancreatic ATP-sensitive potassium channels (KATP). Sulfonylureas promote KATP closure and stimulate insulin secretion, being an alternative therapy in PNDM, instead of insulin. Male, 20 years old, diagnosed with diabetes at
