1. Computação evolutiva na resolução de equações diferenciais ordinárias não lineares no espaço de Hilbert. / Evolutive computation in the resolution of non-linear ordiinary diferential equations in the Hilbert space.
This thesis shows a new method to get polynomial solutions to the initial value problems (IVP), with an error margin comparable to the consecrate numerical methods (NM), for both the function and its derivatives. The method works with differential equations (DEs) linear or not, beeing the developed tolls available until 4th order, whose can be expanded to hi

3. Metodos de subespaços para identificação de sistemas : propostas de alterações, implementações e avaliações / Subspace methods for systems identification : proposals of alterations, implementations and evaluations
This study presents the theoretical foundations of multivariable data modeling in state space by Subspace Methods for Systems Identification of linear time invariant, discrete time, systems. The work contains some basic concepts of dynamic systems, a little of history and the elements of systems identification, state space models and extended state space mod

4. Realce de contraste em imagens digitais usando equalização de histograma
Nowadays devices are able to capture and process images from complex surveillance monitoring systems or from simple mobile phones. In certain applications, the time necessary to process the image is not as important as the quality of the processed images (e.g., medical imaging), but in other cases the quality can be sacrificed in favour of time. This thesis f

5. Compósitos cerâmicos porosos de alumina - zircônia para aplicação em sistemas de controle térmico para satélites: obtenção e caracterização / Alumina-zirconia porous ceramic composites for application in satellite thermal control systems: obtaining and characterization
To control the temperature of satellites are used various thermal control heat systems. The Loop Heat pipe (LHP) are being developed at the DEM (Space Mechanic and Control Division) of the INPE (National Institute for Space Research) an apparatus for passive heat control of the satellites components. The main components of the LHP system are: capillary evapo

7. Desenvolvimento de mudas de cafeeiro cultivadas em tubetes e submetidas a diferentes níveis de déficit hídrico / Development of coffee seedlings cultivated in plastic tubes and submitted at different levels of hydric deficit
Coffee production is a very important activity in the socioeconomic context in Brazil, which makes billion of dollars go around the economy every year generating thousands of direct and indirect jobs. The success in the coffee production depends on the observation of several needs, among others the choice of healthy and vigorous seedlings with good genetic p

8. Study of amazon floodplain water composition using hyperion/EO-1 and field reflectance data for the comprehension of temporal variability of optically active constituents / Estudo da composição das águas da planície amazônica por meio de dados de reflectância do sensor hyperion/EO-1 e de espectrômetro de campo visando a compreensão da variação temporal dos seus constituintes opticamente ativos
Two methodological approaches were evaluated to study the reflectance of optically active constituents using hyperspectral imagery of EO-1 Hyperion orbital sensor: a) Linear Spectral Mixture Model; and b) derivative analysis. Two Hyperion images acquired over an area located upstream of the confluence between the Amazon and the Tapajós rivers were analysed,

9. Algoritmo genético aplicado à otimização de asas de material compósito de veículos aéreos não tripulados / Genetic algorithm applied to optimization of composite material wings of unmanned air vehicles
The advent of the unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) represents a paradigm break in the aeronautical field. The project concepts involved in the development of UAVs are revised and its potential applications are rose. Also the issues related to UAVs operation are assessed and the regulatory questions involved in their certification and integration to the civil air

10. Estudo dos erros sistemáticos inerentes a um sensor de estrelas de cabeça fixa, quando à localização relativa de estrelas / Study of systematic errors inherent to fixed-head star trackers with respect to the relative position of stars
Star trackers are attitude sensors used in spacecrafts capable of providing accurate attitude in arc-seconds range. The attitude information is provided when the star coordinates, measured by the sensor in its frame, are compared with known star directions obtained from a star catalog. Nevertheless, as in all measurement instruments, the measures are likely

11. Development of Peltate Glandular Trichomes of Peppermint1
Cryofixation and conventional chemical fixation methods were employed to examine the ultrastructure of developing peltate glandular trichomes of peppermint (Mentha × piperita). Our results are discussed in relation to monoterpene production and the mechanism of essential oil secretion. Peltate glands arise as epidermal protuberances (initials) that divide a

12. Three dimensional anatomy of complete duct systems in human breast: pathological and developmental implications.
AIMS: To reconstruct the arrangement in space of all major ducts and their branches from nipple to periphery of a human breast obtained at necropsy. METHODS: Duct tracing through cleared haematoxylin stained 2 mm sub-gross coronal slices of a complete necropsy breast and computer modelling of duct territories. RESULTS: All branches were traced for 10 complet
