1. THE INFLUENCE OF THE FILM FORMED ON THE PRATO CHEESE SURFACE DURING THE NACL AND KCL SALTING PROCESS: APPLICATION OF THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD AND NEURAL NETWORKS OF THE SELF-ORGANIZING MAP (SOM) AND MULTILAYER PERCEPTRON (MLP) TYPES
Sodium chloride is used in the cheese salting process as it promotes sensory changes and food preservation. However, in excess can cause hypertension problems, and for this reason, it has been partially replaced by potassium chloride. In the present work, Prato cheese was subjected to joint diffusion of NaCl and KCl by immersion in static and stirred brine.

2. Application of self-organizing maps to evaluate the influence and behavior of the film formed during salting of Prato cheese
Abstract Problems related to high blood pressure have led consumers to choose foods with low levels of sodium chloride, and an alternative to reduce the salt content of this salt is its partial replacement with KCl. In order to not affect the sensory properties of cheese, salting was performed using a solution containing 70% of NaCl and 30% of KCl in a stati

5. Influence of the moisture content on the dynamic modulus of elasticity of concrete made with recycled aggregate

6. Experimental Study of Fatigue Crack Behavior of Rib-To-Rib Butt Welded Connections in Orthotropic Steel Decks
Abstract Rib-to-rib (RR) butt welded connections are one of the most sensitive locations for encountering fatigue failure in orthotropic steel decks (OSDs), and numerous fatigue cracks arising from these areas have been identified in existing OSD bridges. Due to dynamic factors in their service life bridges with an orthotropic steel deck (OSD) are prone to f

7. Investigations on the mechanism and behavior of dynamic energy absorption of metal foam
Abstract Metal foams have been widely used in the engineering fields due to its excellent energy absorption capacity under impact. Under different impact velocities, metal foam exhibits different energy absorption properties. It is important to investigate the mechanism and behavior of energy absorption of metal foam under impact. In this study, a 3D micros

8. On the Nonlinear Transient Analysis of Planar Steel Frames with Semi-Rigid Connections: From Fundamentals to Algorithms and Numerical Studies
Abstract This paper presents the fundamentals for prediction of a more realistic behavior of planar steel frames with semi-rigid connections under dynamic loading. The majority of the research in this area concentrates on the nonlinear static analysis of frames with semi-rigid connections. Indeed, few studies have contributed to the nonlinear dynamic and vi

9. Free vibration analysis and design optimization of SMA/Graphite/Epoxy composite shells in thermal environments
Abstract Composite shells, which are being widely used in engineering applications, are often under thermal loads. Thermal loads usually bring thermal stresses in the structure which can significantly affect its static and dynamic behaviors. One of the possible solutions for this matter is embedding Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) wires into the structure. In the

10. The Quasi-static and Dynamic Mechanical Behavior of Epoxy Matrix Composites Reinforced with Curaua Fibers
The research of natural fiber composites is growing due to the fact that the green materials combine low weight with good mechanical properties. Curaua fiber arises as a competitive natural fiber due to its abundance, low cost and a variety of applications. In this work, different weight fractions of Curaua fiber were used in order to obtain this natural com

11. On the creep behavior of carbon/epoxy non-crimp fabric composites
The use of composites in structural applications requires the study of specific properties to ensure that these materials are safe and an excellent option to replace some metals, for example. In the present study, vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) was used prior to obtain carbon/epoxy non-crimp fabric composites. Dynamic mechanical analysis and

12. Time Domain Modeling and Simulation of Nonlinear Slender Viscoelastic Beams Associating Cosserat Theory and a Fractional Derivative Model
Abstract A broad class of engineering systems can be satisfactory modeled under the assumptions of small deformations and linear material properties. However, many mechanical systems used in modern applications, like structural elements typical of aerospace and petroleum industries, have been characterized by increased slenderness and high static and dynamic
