1. TRAVERSE ADJUSTMENT IN THE ELLIPSOID / AJUSTAMENTO DE LINHA POLIGONAL NO ELIPSÓIDE

2. AJUSTAMENTO E CONTROLES DE QUALIDADE DAS LINHAS POLIGONAIS / LEAST-SQUARES ADJUSTMENT METHOD AND QUALITY CONTROLS OF TRAVERSES
Brazil is a country of great dimension that still holds unexplored areas of little population nowadays. Actually these lands are state-owned, but they have been appropriated as a private property, especially in the Amazon basin. The need for a governmental more effective territorial management was formally implemented through the establishment of a geodetic

4. Antimicrobial Susceptibility of Helicobacter pylori Determined by the E Test Using Tetrazolium Egg Yolk Agar
Metronidazole and tetracycline E tests were compared to an agar dilution method for the antimicrobial susceptibility testing of Helicobacter pylori. Sixteen strains were tested by using tetrazolium egg yolk (TEY) agar. The characteristic E test inhibition ellipse was clearer on TEY agar than on standard blood agar and gave results comparable to those of the

5. Evaluation of the E test for susceptibility testing of anaerobic bacteria.
The susceptibilities of 105 clinical isolates of anaerobic bacteria were determined by a new method, the E test (AB Biodisk, Solna, Sweden), and were compared with the MICs for these organisms obtained by the reference agar dilution method by using supplemented brucella and Wilkins-Chalgren agars. The E test is a plastic strip with a predefined antibiotic gr
