25. Media and Temporalities: the theft of the present and the collective construction of the future in the eletroelectronic communication. / Mídia e temporalidade. O roubo e a contrução coletiva do futuro na comunicação eletroeletrônica
The Industrial Revolution reinaugurated the concept of everyday life as we understand today. Before, the measure of social time was established by common peoples experience, which means time labeling was produced mainly by the observation of rhythm of nature, as cycles and periodization endured by a living body. With the advent of electricity, the dynamo imp

26. Sped up processing of raw ham with use of transglutaminase in boned meat: sensorial profiles, colorimetryc and of texture in comparison with traditional products.

Creamy Requeijão is a genuinamente Brazilian product, being classified as a type of processed cheese gotten by the baking of a mass of cool cheese of you leave fundentes, water and cream of milk. Currently this product is conditioned mainly in glass cups with system of metallic closing of easy opening, being during its commercialization, displayed the light

28. Programa de manejo fronteiras para o Parque Estadual Xixová-Japuí-SP. / Park boundaries management program for Xixová-Japuí State Park in São Paulo.
This study proposed and tested a methodological path based on technical and scientific principles, seeking to define the limits of a buffer zone for protected areas as well as to structure a specific management program called Fronteiras (Boundaries), whose main objective is to set guidelines and strategies to handle issues that concern implementation and

29. Spermidine synthase of Escherichia coli: localization of the speE gene.
We have obtained Escherichia coli mutants lacking spermidine synthase (putrescine aminopropyltransferase) and have found that the mutated gene (speE) is located immediately upstream from the gene coding for S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase (speD); these genes are located at 2.7 minutes on the E. coli chromosome. Both genes are present in a 1795-base-pair f

30. Spermidine biosynthesis in Escherichia coli: promoter and termination regions of the speED operon.
Two enzymes, S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase and spermidine synthase, are essential for the biosynthesis of spermidine in Escherichia coli. We have previously shown that the genes encoding these enzymes (speD and speE) form an operon and that the area immediately upstream from the speE gene is necessary for the expression of both the speE and speD genes.

31. Polyamine Composition and Expression of Genes Related to Polyamine Biosynthesis in an Aphid Endosymbiont, Buchnera
Polyamine composition in an aphid endosymbiotic bacterium, Buchnera sp., was determined by high-performance liquid chromatographic analysis. We found that Buchnera contained virtually only a single polyamine, spermidine. The spermidine content of Buchnera was considerably higher in young aphids and tended to decrease with the age of the host. Expression of s

32. Profiles of Service Utilization and the Resultant Economic Impact in Preschoolers With Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Objective To examine whether preschool children with Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) utilize more speech and language therapy (ST), occupational therapy (OT), and physical therapy (PT) services and are more likely to be placed in special education (SPED) classrooms as compared to their peers. Corresponding financial consequences were also e

33. Construction of an Escherichia coli strain unable to synthesize putrescine, spermidine, or cadaverine: characterization of two genes controlling lysine decarboxylase.
We have previously described a polyamine-deficient strain of Escherichia coli that contained deletions in speA (arginine decarboxylase), speB (agmatine ureohydrolase), speC (ornithine decarboxylase), and speD (adenosylmethionine decarboxylase). Although this strain completely lacked putrescine and spermidine, it was still able to grow at a slow rate indefini

34. S-Adenosylmethionine Decarboxylase from the Archaeon Methanococcus jannaschii: Identification of a Novel Family of Pyruvoyl Enzymes
Polyamines are present in high concentrations in archaea, yet little is known about their synthesis, except by extrapolation from bacterial and eucaryal systems. S-Adenosylmethionine (AdoMet) decarboxylase, a pyruvoyl group-containing enzyme that is required for spermidine biosynthesis, has been previously identified in eucarya and Escherichia coli. Despite

35. Formation of a compensatory polyamine by Escherichia coli polyamine-requiring mutants during growth in the absence of polyamines.
The amounts of normal and compensatory polyamines of polyamine-requiring Escherichia coli mutants grown in the absence of polyamines were determined. Although aminopropylcadaverine, a compensatory polyamine, was synthesized by MA135 (speB) and DR112 (speA speB), no aminopropylcadaverine or only small amounts of aminopropylcadaverine were synthesized by EWH31

36. Leaf Senescence Induced by Mild Water Deficit Follows the Same Sequence of Macroscopic, Biochemical, and Molecular Events as Monocarpic Senescence in Pea1
We have compared the time course of leaf senescence in pea (Pisum sativum L. cv Messire) plants subjected to a mild water deficit to that of monocarpic senescence in leaves of three different ages in well-watered plants and to that of plants in which leaf senescence was delayed by flower excision. The mild water deficit (with photosynthesis rate maintained a
