1. The Concept of a Rupture Risk Envelope for the Cochleo-Saccular Membranes
Abstract Introduction Alterations in endolymphatic pressure have long been suspected of being associated with the development of endolymphatic hydrops and rupture of the membranous labyrinth. More recently, there has been a focus on how membrane mechanics might contribute to membrane rupture. This is suspected to involve the viscoelastoplastic properties of

2. Multiple Jejunal Diverticulosis Complicated by Perforation: Case Report and a Brief Literature Review
Abstract Background Multiple small-bowel diverticulosis comprises a rare entity with probable underestimated incidence, and that may be the reason why it is sometimes overlooked when managing cases with peritonitis. Case report In the present paper, we report the case of a 76-year-old male presenting abdominal pain and fever in an acute setting. Computed

3. Application of Cervical Vestibular-Evoked Myogenic Potentials in Adults with Moderate to Profound Sensorineural Hearing Loss: A Preliminary Study
Abstract Introduction The cochlea and the vestibular receptors are closely related in terms of anatomy and phylogeny. Patients with moderate to profound sensorineural hearing loss (MPSHL) should have their vestibular organ functions tested. Objective To evaluate the incidence of vestibular abnormalities in patients with MPSHL and to study the correlation

4. Hybrid Treatment of Complex Aortic Arch Anomaly with Saccular Aneurysm
Abstract Aortic arch anomalies are not clinically important unless they cause compression symptoms due to aneurysmatic dilatation. Aortic anomalies need to be treated when they cause complex thoracic aortic diseases, and the treatment approach has evolved over time from open surgical methods, which have high mortality and morbidity rates, to hybrid methods.

6. The Influence of Light Exposure in Ambiance during Pregnancy inMaternal and Fetal Outcomes: An Experimental Study

7. Experimental Model of Saccular Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm in Swines with Pericardium Sac
Abstract Objective: To consider modifications in an experimental model of saccular aortic aneurysm, aiming at better reproducibility, to be used in the development of vascular prostheses. Methods: Experimental study in two phases, developed in the Center of Experimental Surgery and Bioterium (CCEB) of the University of Health Sciences of Alagoas (UNCISAL),

8. VEGF receptor expression decreases during lung development in congenital diaphragmatic hernia induced by nitrofen
Changes in vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in pulmonary vessels have been described in congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) and may contribute to the development of pulmonary hypoplasia and hypertension; however, how the expression of VEGF receptors changes during fetal lung development in CDH is not understood. The aim of this study was to compar

9. Anatomy of the digestive tube of sea turtles (Reptilia: Testudines)
This study characterized the morphology of the digestive tube of five species of sea turtles. We used specimens found dead along the coast of the state Rio Grande do Norte, as well as specimens accidentally killed as a result of pelagic longline fishing. Nineteen animals of the following species were analyzed: Chelonia mydas (Linnaeus, 1758) (n = 9), Lepidoc

10. Ultrastructural and functional aspects of the spermatheca in the american harlequin bug, Murgantia histrionica (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)
The spermatheca of Murgantia histrionica (Hahn) was investigated using fluorescence, scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The aim of the study was to elucidate the structure of this organ, pointing out differences between mated and unmated females. Results have shown an elaborated cuticular structure associated with muscular and glandular tissues.

11. Desenvolvimento de novo modelo experimental de aneurisma sacular mediante a incubação intra-arterial de papaína em coelhos (Oryctolagus cuniculus) / Development of a new experimental saccular aneurysm model through intrarterial incubation with papain in rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus)
A elastase destrói as fibras elásticas e dilata as artérias.

12. Modelo suino de aneurisma de aorta abdominal com bolsa de pericárdio bovino / The aortic pericardium sac: new model of abdominal aortic aneurysm in pigs
