1. Microbial mediated preparation, characterization and optimization of gold nanoparticles
The need for eco-friendly and cost effective methods for nanoparticles synthesis is developing interest in biological approaches which are free from the use of toxic chemicals as byproducts. This study aimed to biosynthesize and optimize the size of gold nanoparticles which produced by biotechnological method using Penicillium crustosum isolated from soil. I

2. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) identification of terverticillate Penicillium species isolated from agricultural soils in eskişehir province
In the present study, nine terverticillate Penicillium isolates (P. griseofulfum, P. puberulum, P. crustosum, P. aurantiogriseum, P. chrysogenum, P. primulinum, P. expansum, P. viridicatum, Eupenicillium egyptiacum) from 56 soil samples were characterized genetically by a PCR method. The DNAs of the strains were isolated using the glass beads and vortexing e

3. Production of 5-hydroxy-7-methoxy-4-methylphthalide in a culture of Penicillium crustosum

4. Enantioselective biotransformation of propranolol to the active metabolite 4-hydroxypropranolol by endophytic fungi
The enantioselective biotransformation of propranolol (Prop) by the endophytic fungi Phomopsis sp., Glomerella cingulata, Penicillium crustosum, Chaetomium globosum and Aspergillus fumigatus was investigated by studying the kinetics of the aromatic hydroxylation reaction with the formation of 4-hydroxypropranolol (4-OH-Prop). Both Prop enantiomers were consu

6. Obtenção de derivados dos terpenos enidrina e afidicolina por biotransformação e semi-síntese e avaliação da atividade leishmanicida / Obtainment of aphidicolin and enhydrin derivatives through biotransformation and semi-synthesis and evaluation of leishmanical activity.

7. Evaluation of enzymatic potential of filamentous fungi isolated from different sources / AvaliaÃÃo do potencial enzimÃtico de fungos filamentosos isolados de diferentes fontes
Enzymes are protein macromolecules responsible for the acceleration of the chemical reactions that maintain and regulate living organisms. They occur in nature and can be from vegetable, animal and microbial sources. Due to high industrial demand the microbial sources are the most used. The filamentous fungi compose the group of microorganisms with highest n

9. Novel metabolites from Penicillium crustosum, including penitrem E, a tremorgenic mycotoxin.
Two new indolic metabolites were isolated from Penicillium crustosum and separated from other penitrem mycotoxins by high-performance liquid chromatography. Penitrem D is a deoxy-penitrem A. Penitrem E is dechloro-penitrem A and was shown to be tremorgenic in mice, although it has only one-third of the activity of penitrem A. Roquefortine was also shown, for

10. Ethylene production by soil microorganisms.
Ethylene-producing strains of Penicillium cyclopium and P. crustosum were isolated from soil. These isolates produced ethylene on a variety of carbon growth substrates including phenolic acids. The quantities of ethylene produced on the various substrates varied, and the subtrate-ethylene prosuction pattern for P. cyclopium strains differed significantly fro

11. Biosynthesis of penitrems and roquefortine by Penicillium crustosum.
Roquefortine and the penitrems were biosynthesised concurrently at an approximately equimolar rate by Penicillium crustosum after growth and sporulation. [14C]mevalonic acid was incorporated (15% efficiency) into the isoprenoid regions of the penitrem and roquefortine molecules to an extent consistent with their 6:1 molar ratio of isoprenoid components. 12. Natural occurrence of the mycotoxin viomellein in barley and the associated quinone-producing penicillia.
In a batch of barley associated with field cases of mycotoxic porcine nephropathy and containing ochratoxin A and citrinin, the mycoflora were isolated by parallel incubation at 10 and 25 degrees C. Subsequently, the isolated cultures were checked for production of nephrotoxins (xanthomegnin, viomellein, ochratoxin, and citrinin). The nephrotoxin producers,
