1. ANODES FOR SOFC: REVIEW OF MATERIAL SELECTION, INTERFACE AND ELECTROCHEMICAL PHENOMENA
This paper presents a comprehensive interface and electrochemical phenomena review of different anodes for SOFC. In this way, it was possible to select some mixed electronic and ionic conductor materials alternatives to the conventional anode, Ni-YSZ conductor. New materials must present a satisfactory electronic and ionic conductivity at intermediate temper

2. Clinical Trials in Mitochondrial Disease: An Update on EPI-743 and RP103
Abstract Mitochondrial dysfunction results in the production of an abnormally high amount of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, which results in redox imbalance and glutathione deficiency. Therapeutics such as EPI-743 (?-tocotrienol quinone) and RP103 (cysteamine bitartrate) have the theoretical potential to improve redox imbalance by increasing intracell

3. Transpiration Reduction Factor and Soybean Yield in Low Land Soil with Ridge and Chiseling
ABSTRACT Water and oxygen deficiencies in the soybean crop cultivated on lowland soils are an important topic of research. The objective of this study was to investigate changes in water and oxygen supply and soybean yield caused by soil management in lowland soils. A soybean crop was grown under four soil conditions: no-tillage (NT), chiseling (CH), ridge t

4. Synthesis of Surface Oxygen-deficient BiPO4 Nanocubes with Enhanced Visible Light Induced Photocatalytic Activity
The visible light driven BiPO4 nanocubes with sufficient surface oxygen deficiency were fabricated by a hydrothermal process and subsequently ultrasonic assistant Fe reduction process. The products were characterized by XRD, DRS, XPS, SEM and TEM which showed that the BiPO4 had cuboid-like shape with a smooth surface and clear edges and the oxygen vacancies

5. Determination of U3O8 in UO2 by infrared spectroscopy
Abstract The oxygen-uranium (O-U) system has various oxides, such as UO2, U4O9, U3O8, and UO3. Uranium dioxide is the most important one because it is used as nuclear fuel in nuclear power plants. UO2 can have a wide stoichiometric variation due to excess or deficiency of oxygen in its crystal lattice, which can cause significant modifications of its proprie

6. Waterlogging-induced changes in fermentative metabolism in roots and nodules of soybean genotypes
Waterlogging blocks the oxygen supply to the root system which inhibits respiration, and greatly reduces the energy status of cells that affect important metabolic processes. This study evaluated fermentative metabolism and carbohydrate contents in the root system of two soybean (Glycine max L. Merril) genotypes under hypoxic and post-hypoxic conditions. Nod

7. Phytoestrogen -zearalanol ameliorates memory impairment and neuronal DNA oxidation in ovariectomized mice
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a novel phytoestrogen, α-Zearalanol, on Alzheimer's disease-related memory impairment and neuronal oxidation in ovariectomized mice. METHODS: Female C57/BL6 mice were ovariectomized or received sham operations and treatment with equivalent doses of 17β-estradiol or α-Zearalanol for 8 weeks.

8. Metabolismo fermentativo em raízes e nódulos de soja sob condições de hipoxia e pós-hipoxia / Fermentative metabolism in soybean roots and nodules under hypoxia and post-hypoxia conditions / Metabolismo fermentativo em raízes e nódulos de soja sob condições de hipoxia e pós-hipoxia / Fermentative metabolism in soybean roots and nodules under hypoxia and post-hypoxia conditions

9. Flooding tolerance and cell wall alterations in maize mesocotyl during hypoxia.
This research aimed to characterize the tolerance to flooding and alterations in pectic and hemicellulose fractions from mesocotyl of maize tolerant to flooding when submitted to hypoxia. In order to characterize tolerance seeds from maize cultivars Saracura BRS-4154 and BR 107 tolerant and sensitive to low oxygen levels, respectively, were set to germinate.

10. Estresse oxidativo em trigo causado por diferentes disponibilidade de fósforo em solução hidropônica / Oxidative stress in wheat caused by different availabilities of phosphorus in hidroponics
Phosphorus (P) is one of the most important nutrients for plant growth. However, it is known that its availability is often hampered by the presence of chelating substances in the soil, which turns it unavailable. In order to study the oxidative stress caused by different concentrations of P in two cultivars of wheat, Toropi (tolerant) and Anahuac (sensitive

11. Neutrophil function and metabolism in individuals with diabetes mellitus
Neutrophils act as first-line-of-defense cells and the reduction of their functional activity contributes to the high susceptibilityto and severity of infections in diabetes mellitus. Clinical investigations in diabetic patients and experimental studies in diabetic rats and mice clearly demonstrated consistent defects of neutrophil chemotactic, phagocytic an

12. Terapia com laser em baixa intensidade na prevenção dos efeitos causados pela elevada concentração de glicose na proliferação e migração de fibroblastos / Prevention of high glucose concentration effects in fibroblasts proliferation and migration by low intensity laser therapy.
Diabetic complications, including wound healing deficiency, are usually associated to chronic hyperglycemia, which leads to oxidative stress and aleatory protein glycation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of high glucose concentrations (HGC) on proliferation, migration and death of cultured fibroblasts, as well as the potential effect of lo
