25. MEJORAMIENTO DEL RENDIMIENTO Y CALIDAD DE FRUTO Y PSEUDOFRUTO DE MARAÑON CON UN CICLO DE FERTILIZACIÓN ORGÁNICA
ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the effect of organic fertilizers on production and quality of fruits and pseudo fruits on adult trees of Anacardium occidentale L. by a productive cycle. We established three treatments; organic fertilization (BIO), synthetic fertilization (SF), and unfertilized (UF). The number of panicles m-3, number of flowers per p

26. Lime and calcium-magnesium silicate in the ionic speciation of an Oxisol
ABSTRACT Plant residues and certain fertilizers accelerate soil acidification and increase the levels of aluminum-Al+3 in soils under no-tillage (NT). Silicates act as acidity amendments and as a source of silicon as in H4SiO4. An increase in the pH of soil solution causes the deprotonation of H4SiO4 and generates the anionic form (H3SiO4−). The aim of thi

27. Phosphorus fractions in apple orchards in southern Brazil
ABSTRACT Phosphorus (P) applications at dosages higher than the necessary may cause P buildup in the soil labile fractions and, consequently, pollution of water sources. This study aimed to assess accumulation of P fractions as well as the parameters of adsorption isotherms in soil profiles having a history of application of phosphate fertilizers and cultiva

28. Addition of Urease Inhibitor Has No Effect on Ammonia Volatilization Following Soil Application of Poultry Litter or Organomineral Fertilizer, Unlike Urea
ABSTRACT Quantification of ammonia volatilization after addition of animal residues and nitrogen (N) mineral fertilizers to the soil is important for N management in fertilization programs. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of adding a urease inhibitor to N fertilizers to minimize ammonia losses following soil application. The experiment

29. Use of Organic Compost Containing Waste from Small Ruminants in Corn Production
ABSTRACT Composting is a useful way of transforming livestock waste into organic fertilizer, which is proven to increase soil nutrient levels, and thus crop yield. Remains from production and slaughter of small ruminants can become a source of important elements for plant growth, such as N, after microorganism-driven decomposition. The aim of this investigati

30. Mild and Moderate Extraction Methods to Assess Potentially Available Soil Organic Nitrogen
ABSTRACT The use of chemical methods to assess the soil organic nitrogen (N) potentially available to plants is not a common practice in Brazil. However, associated with others, this tool might improve efficiency in the use of waste and nitrogen fertilizers. In our study, chemical methods were tested to assess potentially available soil N in samples of 17 re

31. Effects of organic fertilizers on the growth and yield of bush bean, winged bean and yard long bean
ABSTRACT VC (20%), TC (20%) and N:P:K fertilizer (farmer's practice) were used to determine the growth and yield attributes of bush bean (Phaseolus vulgaris), winged bean (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus) and yard long bean (Vigna unguiculata). Plants grown with VC (20%) produced the highest fresh biomass for bush bean (527.55 g m-2), winged bean (1168.61 g m-2)

32. Stabilization of confined beef cattle manure: characteristics of produced fertilizers
ABSTRACT The growing demand for animal protein is directly related to the feedlot system of animals and their assumptions, such as the waste management. The characterization of the final products becomes an important factor in decision making by one or by other process. The objective was highlight characteristics that fertilizers present due to the used of s

33. Poultry Litter and Pig slurry Applications in an Integrated Crop-Livestock System
ABSTRACT Organic fertilizers derived from poultry litter and pig slurry are alternatives to mineral fertilizers in increasing soil nutrient availability. The aim of this study was to evaluate soil response, through characterization of organic C and available N, P, and K contents, and corn yield response to increasing amounts of poultry litter, pig slurry, an

34. SUSTENTABILIDADE NO USO DO FÓSFORO: UMA QUESTÃO DE SEGURANÇA HÍDRICA E ALIMENTAR
The phosphorus used as fertilizer in agriculture is extracted from phosphate rocks, which after extraction reacts with sulfuric acid, releasing phosphoric acid, a raw material for the fertilizer industry. Studies point to a possible depletion of world reserves of phosphate rock in the next 50-100 years. A phosphorus scarcity is closely linked to global food

35. Rock biofertilizer and earthworm compost on sugarcane performance and soil attributes in two consecutive years
ABSTRACT The deployment of soluble fertilizers has been one of the most commonly applied agricultural practices in the bid to increase crop yield. However, the production of soluble fertilizers has a considerable economic cost and consumes a substantial amount of energy. In general, soil organic matter provides the nutrients needed for plant growth in organi

36. Chemical Differentiation of Domestic Sewage Sludge and Cattle Manure Stabilized by Microbioreators: Study by Pyrolysis Coupled to Gas Chromatography Coupled to Mass Spectroscopy
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the chemical alterations in substrates of vermicomposts from domestic sewage sludge and from cattle manure, besides its quality as an organic fertilizer. Elemental and infrared analysis and UV-Vis spectroscopy were used for their characterizations. Chemical characteristics determined in the vermicomposts indicate
