A antibioticoterapia é o tratamento indicado em qualquer período da doença, mas sua eficácia parece ser maior na primeira semana do início dos sintomas.
O tratamento indicado não oferece riscos em caso de gestação.
Para gestantes, na fase precoce da doença, recomenda-se: amoxicilina 500mg, VO (via oral), 8/8h, por 5 a 7 dias.
