13. Study of the double exchange model applied on magnecaloric materials / Estudo do modelo da dupla troca aplicado aos materiais magnetocalóricos

14. New functionals for the anisotropic Heisenberg model / Novos funcionais para o modelo de Heisenberg anisotrópico
The Heisenberg Model is generally recognized in the study of electromagnetism with origin in localized magnetic moments. Similar to the well known classical Ising model, it incorporates, however, quantum flutuations. We are interested in antiferromagnetic systems described by the Heisenberg Hamiltonian with exchange anisotropy and, eventually, non-null magne

16. Teorema Central do Limite para o modelo O(N) de Heisenberg hierárquico na criticalidade e o papel do limite N ->infinito na dinâmica dos zeros de Lee-Yang / Central Limit Theorem for the hierarchical O(N) Heisenberg model at criticality and the role of the N ->infinity limit for the Lee-Yang zeros´s dynamics
In this work we stablish the Central Limit Theorem for the hierarchical O(N) Heisenberg model at criticality via partial differential equation in the limit N ->infinity. For simplicity we only treat the d = 4 case but the theorem is still valid for d >4. By studying a given partial differential equation (PDE) we determine for any d >2 the critical inverse te

Me

18. Modelo de Heisenberg em um espaço com curvatura negativa: excitações topológicas de spin na pseudo-esfera / Heisenberg model on a space with negative curvature: topological spin textures on the pseudosphere
Heisenberg-like spins lying on the pseudosphere (a 2- dimensional infinite space with constant negative curvature) cannot give rise to stable soliton solutions. Only fractional solutions can be stabilized on this surface provided that at least one hole is incorporated. We also address the issue of in-plane vortices, in the XY regime. Interestingly, the energ

19. Microscopic theory of spin waves in magnetic nanowires / Teoria microscÃpica de ondas de spin em nanofios magnÃticos
The dynamical behavior of spins in magnetic materials is affected by its geometry and dimensionality. One can find several new results in the literature exploiting the magnetic properties of low dimension systems with different geometries, since the development of new devices such as: nanosensors, high density magnetic storage, etc., is closely related to ne

20. Propriedades críticas estáticas e dinâmicas de modelos com simetria contínua e do modelo Z(5) / Static and dynamic critical properties of models with continuous symmetry and of the Z(5) model

21. MODELO ESPECTRAL DE HEISENBERG APLICADO AO DECAIMENTO DA TURBULÊNCIA NA CAMADA RESIDUAL / SPECTRAL MODEL DE HEISENBERG APPLIED TO THE DECLINE OF THE TURBULENCE IN RESIDUAL LAYER
In the study of the dispersion of contaminants in the atmosphere by computational simulations, the Eulerian approach, based in the diffusionadvection equation, is largely employed. In these simulations, concentration values are calculated at each point of a fixed grid in space and time and for this to be done it is necessary to determine an appropriated eddy

22. Monte Carlo study of the anisotropic three-dimensional Heisenberg model in a crystal field
We study the phase diagram of the three-dimensional classical ferromagnetic Heisenberg model with an easy-plane crystalline anisotropy and an easy-axis exchange anisotropy through Monte Carlo simulations. We employ the Metropolis algorithm together with single-histogram techniques in order to characterize the transitions in each region of the phase diagram.

In this work we will study through the differential operator technique the surface effect in anisotropic spin quantum Heisenberg model, through theory of effective field (EFT), of a two-spins cluster, in case of simple cubic lattice. Those systems are characterized by the existence of the surfaces, thin films and superlattice, or the bulk. Therefore, the exc

Theoretical studies on lanthanide compounds were performed, and divided into three parts: (i) generalization of the Linderberg-Seamans equations for an s-p-d-f basis set; (ii) study of the ligand-to-lanthanide ion charge transfer transitions (LMCT) with the ZINDO98 program using the INDO/S semiempirical hamiltonian and (iii) a study of point charge and charg
