1. Cr3+ Doped Al2O3 Obtained by Non-Hydrolytic Sol-Gel Methodology
This paper reports the synthesis and characterization of Cr3+-doped alumina by the sol-gel non-hydrolytic methodology. The resulting sample was treated at different temperatures. X-ray diffraction revealed that the ruby phase emerged in the sample treated at 1100 ºC, which was later confirmed by absorption bands correspondent to Cr3+ ions allowed transition

2. Characterization of CBD-CdS Doped with Some Rare Earths III (Eu3+,Ce3+) as Function of Synthesis Time
Rare earths (Europium, cerium)-doped CdS nanofilms are prepared using the growth technique chemical bath deposition (CBD) at the reservoir temperature of 70±2°C varying the synthesis time in a wide range. For the rare earths doped CdS nanofilms the synthesis time was ranged from 80 to 135 min. The rare earths molar concentration was in the range 0.0≤x≤

3. Giant reversible magnetocaloric effect in flower-like β-Co(OH)2 hierarchical superstructures self-assembled by nanosheets
A facile hydrothermal strategy is proposed to synthesize flower-like β-Co(OH)2 hierarchical microspherical superstructures with a diameter of 0.5-1.5 μm, which are self-assembled by β-Co(OH)2 nanosheets with the average thickness ranging between 20 and 40 nm. The magnetocaloric effect associated with magnetic phase transitions in Co(OH)2 superstructures h

4. Molecular dynamics and formation of domains in block copolymers studied by high and low resolution NMR / Dinâmica molecular e formação de domínios em copolímeros em bloco estudados por RMN de alta e baixa resolução
The main objective of this dissertation is the use of NMR methods to characterize the phase separation and, to some extent, the dynamics of the molecular segments in block copolymers. In the first part, NMR Spin Diffusion methods were explored in order to evaluate their performance as well as the main experimental difficulties. For that, a reference tri-bloc

6. Estudo de materiais magnéticos através de técnicas fototérmicas : efeito magnetocalórico e filmes finos / Study of magnetic materials using photothermal techniques : magnetocaloric effect and thin films
The magnetocaloric effect (MCE) has been widely studied because of its possible application in magnetic refrigeration. The search for suitable materials has intensified over the last decade, with a demand not only for the preparation of new materials but also for their complete characterization. The aim of this work is to apply the photothermal techniques to

7. Investigation of structural, electronic and magnetica properties of Ca2-xLaxFelrO6, Sr2-xLaxFelrO6 e TbMnO3 oxides / Investigação as propriedades estruturais, eletronicas e magneticas dos oxidos Ca2-xLaxFelrO6, Sr2-xLaxFelrO6 e TbMnO3
For many decades the transition metal oxides are subject of great scientific interest because of the wide variety of interesting physical properties and their potential technological applications. More recently, for example, oxides of transition metals with multiferroic properties have been considered as potential magneto-electronic devices. Many transition

8. Simulações numéricas de Monte Carlo aplicadas no estudo das transições de fase do modelo de Ising dipolar bidimensional / Numerical Monte Carlo simulations applied to study of phase transitions in two-dimensional dipolar Ising model
Two-dimensional spin model with nearest-neighbor ferromagnetic interaction and long-range dipolar interactions exhibit a rich phase diagram, whose characteristics have been exploited by several studies in the recent literature. Furthermore, the possibility of explain observed phenomena in ultrathin magnetic films, which have many technological applications,

9. Estudo da tenacificação do poliestireno com elastômeros butadiênicos / Polystyrene toughening by butadiene elastomers
This Dissertation describes a study about the toughening of polystyrene with different types of polybutadiene (high-cis, low-cis and styrene - butadiene diblock or triblock copolymers). These materials (High Impact of PolyStyrene HIPS) were performed by melt blending. The mechanical properties (hardness, tensile strength and impact strength); morphology and

10. Metodos baseados na fotoacustica para caracterização de materiais magnetocaloricos / Methods based on the photoacoustic for characterization of magnetocaloric materials
In this work the photoacoustic technique was used to develop experimental setups to investigate magnetocaloric materials, which have been of great interest due to their applications in refrigeration systems. The value (4,5 ± 0,2).10-6 m2/s was determined, at room temperature, as the thermal di usivity of the Gd, based on the two-beam photoacoustic method, b

11. Studies of inhomogeneity effects on properties of superconducting materials / Estudo da influencia de inomogeneidades nas propriedades de materiais supercondutores
In this work we study the physical properties of bismuth samples. Crystalline bulk bismuth, in the rhombohedral phase, is not superconducting, but, in the cubic phase, for example (obtained under pressure), in films and in the amorphous phase, may present superconducting transition. We observed superconductivity in a bismuth virgin powder and in samples prep
