1. Synthesis and characterization of poly(S-2-mercaptoethyl 2-(thiophen-3-yl)ethanethioate) by electrochemical polymerization
Abstract A novel monomer of S-2-mercaptoethyl 2-(thiophen-3-yl)ethanethioate (MTE) were synthesized via esterification reaction between 2-(thiophen-3-yl)acetic and ethane-1,2-dithiol in the presence of dicyclohexyl-carbodiimide (DCC) and N,N’-dimethylpyridin-4-amine (4-DMAP) as catalytic system. The structure of monomer was characterized via MS, 1H-NMR and

2. Solid polymer electrolytes based in sodium alginate. / Eletrólitos sólidos poliméricos a base de alginato de sódio
The aim of this study was the preparation and characterization of sodium alginate membranes plasticized with glycerol. The samples were obtained with different concentration of acetic acid or lithium perchlorate in order to use them as solid polymer electrolytes (SPE) in electrochemical devices, such as sensors and batteries. The films were characterized by

3. Use of polymer poli (N-vinylcarbazole) for photovoltaic applications. / Fabricação e caracterização de uma célula solar à partir do polímero poli (N-vinilcarbazol) - PVK dopado com perclorato de lítio.
The objective of this article is to demonstrate that the Poly(N-vinylcarbazole) PVK dumped with lithium perchlorate (LiClO4) can transform solar energy to electrical energy. This polymer material has the property of absorbing and generate electron hole pairs, providing an electric current when exposed to enlightenment. To achieve that, a solar cell has been

4. The effect of temperature and LiClO4 in the water structure: a Raman spectroscopy study
A method to obtain the components of the broad Raman band assigned to the OH stretching vibrations of liquid water was developed, by considering the subtraction of spectra at several temperatures. From these subtractions a set of six components, that we denominate "basis", was determined corresponding to several water structures. This procedure fixes the num

5. Dispositivo de armazenamento de energia utilizando polianilina e eletrolito polimerico
Recently, supercapacitors or electrochemical capacitors have brought renewed interest in the area of energy storage because of possible application in electric vehicles and electronic devices. The developments in this area require energy storage with a high density and short charge discharge times. Conductive polymers have advantages over metal oxides as ele

6. Estudos cineticos da reação dos derivados benzila da cobaloxima com Hg (C104)2
In this work, the kinetics of the reactions of benzyl derivatives of cobaloxime and Hg(ClO4)2 in aqueous HClO4 vere investigated. The kinetic measurements were made under pseudo-first order conditions, with Hg(ClO4)2 always in excess. The study included eleven complexes, with the temperature constant at 25,0°C. The concentrations of cobaloxime, of mercury(I

7. The effects of lyotropic anions on electric field-induced guidance of cultured frog nerves.
1. Dissociated Xenopus neurites turn cathodally in small applied electric fields. Increasing the external polycation concentration alters the direction and extent of field-induced orientation. A decrease in membrane surface charge may underlie these effects. 2. Lyotropic anions increase membrane surface charge and we have examined the effect of perchlorate (

8. Surface tension measurements show that chaotropic salting-in denaturants are not just water-structure breakers.
Since the salting-in agents guanidinium chloride, urea, and lithium perchlorate increase the surface tension of water, the salting-in phenomenon does not reflect easier cavity formation in water. Therefore, these salting-in agents must be directly contributing to the solvation of a solute such as benzene in water, probably by a direct solvation interaction.
