1. Effects of Geometrical Feature on Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of Refill Friction Stir Spot Welding 6061 Aluminum Alloy
Refill friction stir spot welding (refill FSSW) is a solid state joining technology developed and patented by Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht. Refill FSSW is a welding process suitable for spot joining lightweight materials in similar and dissimilar joint configuration. The result is a spot welded in lap configuration with minimal material loss and a flat surfa

2. Effect of Yd:YAG laser irradiation on the shear bond strength of orthodontic metal brackets

3. Bond strength evaluation between textiles reinforced mortar with carbon nanotubes and concrete substrate
Abstract The influence of using carbon nanotubes to improve bond strength between textiles reinforced mortar and concrete was investigated. Forty-two specimens were tested using double-shear test to evaluate the effect of various parameters such as CNTs addition, type of textile material, bond length and width, and number of TRM layers on the bond behavior.

4. Nonlinear numerical analysis of composite slabs with steel decking

5. Plate with holes as shear connector in cold formed steel composite beams

6. Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of AA6061/AZ31B/AA6061 Composite Plates Fabricated by Vertical Explosive Welding and Subsequent Hot Rolling
In this study, three-ply Al/Mg/Al composite plates were successfully achieved by vertical explosive welding (EXW) method. After EXW, the sound joints were obtained. Then thin three-ply Al/Mg/Al EXWed composite plates with the thickness of 1.78 mm were achieved by hot rolling. The influence of annealing on the interface microstructures and mechanical properti

7. An Evaluation of the Dielectric Barrier Discharge Treatment on the Mechanical, Structural and Morphological Properties of Carbon Fibers
ABSTRACT: Carbon fibers (CFs) have been widely applied in the manufacture of polymeric composites. The mechanical properties of these composites depend on the adhesion in the matrix/CF interface. Since the CFs have poor adhesion properties, a surface treatment of the CFs becomes necessary. The plasma process used in this work was the dielectric barrier disch

8. The Carbon Nanotubes Effect into Single-lap Joint Failure Modes and Load Capacity: a Macromechanical Analysis
This study investigates the influence of the adhesive (epoxy resin) thickness and the dispersions of non-functionalized carbon based nanostructures (carbon nanotubes - CNT) on mechanical properties of single-lap bonded joints. To achieve this goal, three CNT concentrations (0.5%, 1.0% and 2.0% m/m); and three different bondline thicknesses (0.05 mm, 0.15 mm

9. Effect of TiO2 nanoparticles incorporation on antibacterial properties and shear bond strength of dental composite used in Orthodontics

11. Three-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis of Compressive Behavior of Circular Steel Tube-Confined Concrete Stub Columns by New Confinement Relationships
Abstract This paper presents a nonlinear analysis of axially loaded steel tube-confined concrete (STCC) stub columns with new confinement relationships. For this aim, a 3-D finite element model of STCC columns using ABAQUS program is developed and validated against the experimental data. Proper material constitutive models are proposed and the confinement pa
