25. Fuzzy Classification in the Determination of Input Application Zones
ABSTRACT Correctly interpreting soil fertility and its spatial distribution within an area helps to lessen losses and environmental effects associated with agriculture, to optimize fertilization and liming practices. This study is aimed at using concepts and methods from spatial and temporal analyses to soil fertility and to develop a fuzzy classification me

26. Comparison of In-Flight Measured and Computed Aeroelastic Damping: Modal Identification Procedures and Modeling Approaches
ABSTRACT The Operational Modal Analysis technique is a methodology very often applied for the identification of dynamic systems when the input signal is unknown. The applied methodology is based on a technique to estimate the Frequency Response Functions and extract the modal parameters using only the structural dynamic response data, without assuming the kn

27. INCLUDING RISK IN ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS:A STOCHASTIC SIMULATION MODEL FOR BLUEBERRY INVESTMENT DECISIONS IN CHILE
ABSTRACT The traditional method of net present value (NPV) to analyze the economic profitability of an investment (based on a deterministic approach) does not adequately represent the implicit risk associated with different but correlated input variables. Using a stochastic simulation approach for evaluating the profitability of blueberry (Vaccinium corymbo

28. Analysis and Design of a GaAs Monolithic Tunable Polyphase Filter in S/C Bands
AbstractThis paper proposes a new topology of a 2-Stages Active Polyphase Filter (APPF) in MMIC GaAs technology. This new topology, named “radial”, allows a greater balancing of output signals phases and amplitudes, over the actual APPF’s at the state of the art. In this paper an ex-novo study is shown and synthesis formulas for the APPF are provided.

29. Vertical force calibration of smart force platform using artificial neural networks
INTRODUCTION: The human body may interact with the structures and these interactions are developed through the application of contact forces, for instance due to walking movement. A structure may undergo changes in the dynamic behaviour when subjected to loads and human bodies. The aim of this paper is to propose a methodology using Artificial Neural Network

30. Weldability studies and parameter optimization of AISI 904L super austenitic stainless steel using friction welding
Welding input parameters play a very significant role in determining the quality of a weld joint. The quality of the joint can be defined in terms of mechanical properties, distortion and weld-bead geometry. Generally, all welding processes are employed with the aim of obtaining a welded joint with the desired characteristics. The purpose of this study is to

31. Scale of operation, allocative inefficiencies and separability of inputs and outputs in agricultural research
In this article we consider some properties of concern for research production at Embrapa. We apply statistical tests to address questions related to the scale of operation, the presence of allocative inefficiencies and separability of inputs and outputs. The production process is assessed by nonparametric methods with the use of Data Envelopment Analysis. T

32. Ten years of research on parametric data envelopment analysis
In this paper we present a brief overview of 10 years of research on Parametric Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). We begin with a brief introduction to DEA. Then, we present the central problem of how to distribute a new and total fixed variable (input or output) across all DMUs (Decision Making Units) present in the analysis. We then tell the history of the

33. Emprego de ferramentas estatísticas para avaliação da usinabilidade de ligas de alumínio
The main objective of the present work is to study the effect of the input variables: mechanical properties of the workpiece (tensile strength, hardness and elongation) and cutting conditions (cutting speed, feed rate, depth of cut and lubri-cooling system) over the output variables: cutting forces, power consumption, cutting temperature, surface roughness (

34. Detecção e classificação de arritmias em eletrocardiogramas usando transformadas wavelets, máquinas de vetores de suporte e rede Bayesiana
The cardiopathies are currently, according the Ministério da Saúde, the second biggest cause of mortality among the Brazilians, behind only the brain vascular diseases. The motivation for the work here presented is the identification and classification of cardiopathies registered in Electrocardiogram exams, ECG, such as premature contractions, branches blo

35. ANALISE E PROJETO DO CONVERSOR BUCK INTERCALADO PARA ALIMENTAÇÃO DE LÂMPADAS DE DESCARGA EM ALTA PRESSÃO DE ALTA POTÊNCIA / INTERLEAVED BUCK CONVERTER ANALYSIS FOR HIGH POWER HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE LAMPS SUPPLYING
This work presents a detailed analysis about the interleaved buck converter applied to electronic ballasts to supply high power HID lamps, assuming the input voltage as a PFC stage output. As the output capacitor has a maximum value to be applied in parallel with the lamp, parallel operated converters are a suitable choice because the output current ripple c

36. Macrodinâmica à Keynesiana : uma travessia com consistência entre fluxos e estoques a partir do encadeamento de curtos períodos do multiplicador / Keynesian-style macrodinamics : a stock-flow consistent traverse throught the enchainment of short multiplier periods
This thesis is divided into three parts. The first one discusses the short period behind the traditional autonomous expenditure multiplier, in a way that exposes the major macroeconomic aggregates and their interconnections; at this point the separation between the autonomous and induced parcels with respect to income is crucial. A second chapter, compoundin
