1. Long-term outcomes of children after solid organ transplantation
Solid organ transplantation has transformed the lives of many children and adults by providing treatment for patients with organ failure who would have otherwise succumbed to their disease. The first successful transplant in 1954 was a kidney transplant between identical twins, which circumvented the problem of rejection from MHC incompatibility. Further pro

2. A study of case with one blind and one sighted child (identicals twins: childrens social skills, mothers beliefs and educative pratices.
A área do Treinam

3. Desenvolvimento linguistico de gemeos : relações comunicativas intra e extragemelares no contexto da terapia fonoaudiologica em grupo
Although the development of twins are very similar to the development of children who are not twins, there is at least one area where they are usually behind the others: the language. And one of the hypothesis which tries to explain this fact is precisely the "twin situation", because a twin, always having the other twin s company, wouldn t feel any objectiv

4. Diferenças individuais na aquisição dos deiticos por casal de gemeos
This work presents the analysis of individual differences in the acquisition of some deitic terms (demonstratives, locatives, personal pronouns and verbal inflections) by twins. The data reported here are based on longitudinal records of the speech development of non-identical twins, Augusto e Renata, in age from 2;0 to 4;0, and belong to data bank of Langua

6. Bilateral Norrie's disease in identical twins.
A case of Norrie's disease in an identical twins is reported. No positive family history was obtained. The couple had no other children. The older of the twins died at the age of 9 months of uncertain cause. To the best of my knowledge this is the first case of Norrie's disease reported in Malaysia. And its occurrence in an identical twins is very rare.

7. Insulin secretion, insulin action, and hepatic glucose production in identical twins discordant for non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.
12 identical twin pairs discordant for non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) were studied for insulin sensitivity (euglycemic insulin clamp, 40 mU/m2 per min), hepatic glucose production (HGP, [3-3H]glucose infusion), and insulin secretion (oral glucose tolerance test and hyperglycemic [12 mM] clamp, including glucagon administration). Five of the

8. MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE AND CONGENITAL PYLORIC STENOSIS IN IDENTICAL TWINS
Both congenital pyloric stenosis and the mitral valve prolapse syndrome are reported to have a familial incidence. Although mitral valve prolapse has been documented in twins, only one case has received echocardiographic confirmation. The present account describes typical symptomatic mitral valve prolapse in identical twins, both of whom had undergone surger

9. Exercise electrocardiography and aortic Doppler velocimetry in asymptomatic identical twins discordant for type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetes.
OBJECTIVE--To determine the influence of insulin dependent diabetes on the prevalence of myocardial ischaemia and on global left ventricular systolic performance. DESIGN--Stress treadmill electrocardiograms and simultaneous Doppler measurement of aortic maximum acceleration were obtained during exercise on symptom free subjects. The electrocardiograms were s

11. Concordant cerebral oligodendroglioma in identical twins.
A case of concordant oligodendroglioma in monozygotic twins is reported. The twins were also concordant for uterine leiomyoma and one twin partner had fibroadenoma and lipoma of the breast and myelofibrosis. As very few cases of concordant glioma in monozygotic twins have been published and no such cases in dizygotic twins, a genetic influence in the aetiolo

12. Malignant gliomas occurring in identical twins
The occurrence of malignant gliomas in a pair of identical twins is reported. One, in the posterior fossa, presented in the third year of life, the other, in the left cerebral hemisphere, in the eighth. Both ran a rapidly progressive course and died within a few months of the onset of symptoms. The histological structure of the gliomas was similar and both t
