13. Rietveld and Impedance Analysis of Cold and Hot Rolled Duplex and Lean Duplex Steels for Application in Paper and Pulp Industry
In this study, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Rietveld Refinement were performed to identify and quantify the ferrite and austenite phase of cold and hot rolled duplex stainless steels (UNS S31803) and lean duplex stainless steels (UNS S32304). Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was applied to evaluate the chemical behavior of duplex and lean duplex s

14. Deformation induced precipitation in an industrial Ti microalloyed dual phase steel
Abstract This study evaluated the influence of plastic deformation during hot strip rolling in the size of TiN precipitates in an industrial Ti microalloyed dual phase steel. TiN is usually used for pinning austenitic grain boundaries during recrystallization and its efficiency depends on factors such as size of the precipitates and Ti precipitated fraction.

15. Caracterización de semielaborados de aleaciones de titanio procesadas por extrusión y laminación perforación (proceso Mannesmann)
ABSTRACTFor the manufacture of seamless pipes and tubes are used, as raw materials, hollow bars from hot deformation processes like extrusion and rotary tube piercing (Mannesmann process). Starting from these semi-elaborated products and by means of successive cross sections reductions through tube drawing or tube rolling (cold pilgering) the requested final

16. Mechanical Behavior of a Twip Steel (Twinning Induced Plasticity)
ABSTRACTA TWIP steel (0.65%C; 22%Mn; 0.28%Cr; 0.16%Si) was produced in the laboratory by melting, casting, hot forging and hot rolling. The relationship between mechanical twinning fraction and mechanical behavior of this steel was studied through tension tests at the following temperatures: 25, 300, 325, 350, 375 and 400°C. Fracture toughness was measured

17. Evolution of texture and microstructure during thermo-mechanical processingin ultrathin low carbon steels
ABSTRACT In this research paper an analysis concerning the evolution of crystallographic texture during hot rolling processing of low carbon steel is presented. The study was performed on a steel sheet with an initial thickness of 1.9 mm used in the process of cold rolling. In order to assess the differences between tensile and compressive deformation, a 90

18. Estudo do comportamento termomecânico do aço API 5L X80 microligado ao Nb-Ti através de ensaios de torção a quente
AbstractThe controlled rolling of high strength low alloy steel has been widely used in the production of large diameter pipes for the oil and gas industry. The thermo-mechanical control process (TMCP) is used to maximize grain refinement and achieve both higher strength and toughness in the steels. In this sense, API 5L X80 micro-alloyed Nb-Ti steel was sub

19. Effect of cooling rate on (ε, α') martensite formation in twinning/transformation-induced plasticity Fe-17Mn-0.06C steel
The cooling rate, density of stacking faults, austenite grain size, and temperature strongly influence the γfcc → εhcp → a'bcc martensite transformation in austenitic alloys. During cooling, austenitic Fe-Mn steels can partially transform to ε and α'martensites within a restricted chemical composition. Martensite formation will influence the mechanic

20. Study of aluminum nitride precipitation in Fe- 3%Si steel
For good performance of electrical steels it is necessary a high magnetic induction and a low power loss when submitted to cyclic magnetization. A fine dispersion of precipitates is a key requirement in the manufacturing process of Fe- 3%Si grain oriented electrical steel. In the production of high permeability grain oriented steel precipitate particles of c

21. Estudo de aço microligado ao vanádio para a produção de barra nervurada para concreto armado com característica de soldabilidade segundo norma ABNT NBR 8965:1985
This paper presents a vanadium microalloyed steel for the production of reinforced bars (rebars) that meets the chemical composition limits established by Brazilian standards to be considered weldable. Steel is produced via electric furnace, giving rise to billets. It is hot rolled in a rolling mill and cooled in air to obtain the rebar that meets the mechan

Non-oriented silicon steels are soft magnetic materials widely used in equipments for electricity generation and distribution. The obtaining of both high magnetic induction and low magnetic loss has been subject of research for the improvement and development of new nonoriented silicon steels. These works have focused on the development of alloys with lower

24. Effect of processing parameters on scale formation during hot steel strip rolling
The influence of processing parameters (slab thickness, water flow of interstand cooling and oil flow in roll gap lubrication system) on the thickness and composition of the tertiary scale formed during hot strip rolling, was studied in a low carbon steel in factory. The scale formed on the rolled surface was characterized by scanning electron microscopy and
