25. Development and Characterization of Vitamin A-Loaded Solid Lipid Nanoparticles for Topical Application
Vitamin A and its esters are commonly found in topical applications because of their advantageous properties, however, have the drawback that are highly sensitive to ultraviolet radiation. The aim of this work was to develop and characterize a novel formulation of solid lipid nanoparticles suitable for topical applications in order to protect vitamin A from

26. Fatty acids profile of chia oil-loaded lipid microparticles
ABSTRACT Encapsulation of poly-unsaturated fatty acid (PUFA)is an alternative to increase its stability during processing and storage. Chia (Salvia hispanica L.) oil is a reliable source of both omega-3 and omega-6 and its encapsulation must be better evaluated as an effort to increase the number of foodstuffs containing PUFAs to consumers. In this work chia

27. Microstructure Evolution of the Mg-5.8 Zn-0.5 Zr-1.0 Yb Alloy During Homogenization
The influence of homogenization treatment on microstructure evolution of Mg-5.8Zn-0.5Zr-1.0Yb (mass fraction, %) alloy was investigated under different annealing temperatures and holding times. Results indicated a severe dendritic segregation in the as-cast ingot. Zn and Yb segregate remarkably at the grain boundary and Zr appears in the form of precipitates

28. Does fire determine distinct floristic composition of two Cerrado savanna communities on different substrates?
ABSTRACT We surveyed two savanna sites, one on flat terrain with deep soil (DS), and the other on hilly terrain with rocky outcrops and shallow soil (RS), before and after an accidental fire. We found that the fire did not cause any significant changes in the species composition or diversity of either community, and did not result in floristic homogenization

29. Utilization of dynamic light scattering to evaluate Pterodon emarginatus oleoresin-based nanoemulsion formation by non-heating and solvent-free method
Abstract Pterodon emarginatus Vogel, Fabaceae, is a great source of bioactive compounds. The most known and studied herbal derivative from this species is an ambar-colored oleoresin that contains vouacapane diterpenes and volatile terpenoids, such as β-caryophyllene. Some recent papers aimed to generate nanoemulsions using this oleoresin for biological appl

30. Obtaining and Characterization of W-Cu Composite Powder Produced by Mixing and Sintering of Ammonium Paratungstate (Apt) and Copper Nitrate
The objective of this work is obtaining W-30 wt% Cu composite powder from ammonium paratungstate hydrated (APT) and hydrated copper nitrate and investigating the influence of some production process parameters of W- 30 wt% Cu in particles form which results in high sinterability and densification of W-30 wt% Cu composite. To achieve this objective, the powde

31. Parasite infracommunities of Leporinus friderici: A comparison of three tributaries of the Jurumirim Reservoir in southeastern Brazil
ABSTRACT The degradation and homogenization of natural habitats is considered a major cause of biotic homogenization. Many studies have been undertaken on the effects of dams on aquatic wildlife, in particular fish assemblages. But how do dams affect the parasitic fauna of such fish? The aim of the present study was to examine parasitic similarity, comparing

32. Impactos de la dinámica urbana en los mercados laborales en las principales ciudades chilenas
Abstract Economic and financial liberalization reforms, in most Latin American countries, have led to a radical change in the structure of material production in the region. In this context, this paper aims to identify and characterize the link between the growth trends of the main Chilean cities and the evolution of their urban labor markets, seeking to cla

33. Factors Affecting Kinetics of Strain Aging in S275JRC Steel
The materials parameter i.e. microstructure as well as the processing factors i.e. aging time and temperature, the amount of plastic deformation, and residual stresses affecting the kinetic of strain ageing in the S275JRC steel were investigated in detail. For this purpose, 5 % pre-strained steel was aged at 160ºC for different intervals. The ageing behavio

34. On Micro-Buckling of Unidirectional Fiber-Reinforced Composites by Means of Computational Micromechanics
Abstract Micro-buckling of unidirectional fiber-reinforced composites is investigated in this paper by means of an explicit representation of a geometrically imperfect fiber within the context of kinematical and material non-linear behavior. Two types of fiber imperfections are considered: a helicoidal shape, identified as 3D imperfection; and a sinusoidal p

35. Factors that alter the biochemical biomarkers of environmental contamination in Chironomus sancticaroli (Diptera, Chironomidae)
ABSTRACT Changes in physiology of the nervous system and metabolism can be detected through the activity of acetylcholinesterase (AChE), alpha esterase (EST-a) and beta esterase (EST-ß) in chironomids exposed to pollutants. However, to understand the real effect of xenobiotics on organisms, it is important to investigate how certain factors can interfere wi

36. Evaluación de la diversidad en comunidades de tardígrados (Ecdysozoa: Tardigrada) en hábitats urbano y rural de la ciudad de Salta (Argentina)
ABSTRACT This work was carried out under the hypothesis that there is a growing loss of diversity in communities of tardigrades, from rural to urban areas, increasing the homogenization of its communities due to the urbanization. Samples were taken from the city of Salta in areas with high vehicular traffic and samples in surrounding rural areas. We identifi
