2. Desconstrução dimensional e violação de sabor / Dimensional desconstruction and flavor violation
The Standard Model of elementary particles describes the electroweak and strong interactions, and its predictions have successfully matched existing experimental data. However, there are some issues that are not addressed by this model, such as the gauge hierarchy problem and the origin of fermion masses. Both problems can be solved naturally using Warped Ex

4. Instantons in curved spaces / Instantons em espaços curvos
In this work we study instanton solutions of the Yang-Mills theory in Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordstrom spaces with gauge group SU(2).Instantons are solutions to the classical field equations of Yang-Mills theory defined in a space with Riemannian (positive de finite)metric with finite action. We begin with a review of the geometric setting of Yang-Mills

6. Aspectos não perturbativos das teorias de Yang-Mills no calibre abeliano maximal / Non-perturbative aspects of the Yang-Mills theories in the maximal Albelian gauge
In this, we study the nonperturbative effects associated to the presence of the horizon and to the condensation of local dimension two operators in an Eucledean SU(2)Yang-Mills theory quantized in the maximal Abelian gauge. Such effects are introduced in a way to preserve the properties of renormalizability and locality of the theory. The comparison with the

7. Lorente symmetry breaking and chern-simons term in (3+1) dimensions / Quebra da simetria de Lorentz e o termo de Chern-Simons em (3+1) dimensões
In this dissertation, we studied the Chern-Simons model in the gauge and the gravitation theories. So, we study the problem of fermions interacting, in a first moment, with a electromagnetic field and in a second moment, with a gravitational field. We introduced in the interaction lagragian, for both cases, a background field which break the Lorentz symmetry

8. Integrable field theories and solitons / Teorias de campos integráveis e sólitons

Study of the spectrum of color screening masses in lattice QCD to finite temperature.
In this work we study the spectrum of the lowest screening masses for Yang-Mills theories on the lattice. We used the gauge groups SU(2) and SU(3) in 2 + 1 and 3 + 1 dimensions. Calculations were done near the critical temperature of the confinement-desconfinement phase transition. We obtained values for the ratios of the screening masses consistent with pre

10. Reducible gauge theories in local superfield Lagrangian BRST quantization
The construction of theta-local superfield Lagrangian BRST quantization in non-Abelian hypergauges for generic gauge theories based on the action principle is examined in the case of reducible local superfield models (LSM) on the basis of embedding a gauge theory into a special theta-local superfield model with antisymplectic constraints and a Grassmann-odd

11. Langevin dynamics of the deconfinement transition for pure gauge theory
We investigate the effects of dissipation in the deconfinement transition for pure SU(2) and SU(3) gauge theories. Using an effective theory for the order parameter, we study its Langevin evolution numerically. Noise effects are included for the case of SU(2). We find that both dissipation and noise have dramatic effects on the spinodal decomposition of the

12. Off-diagonal mass generation for Yang-Mills theories in the maximal Abelian gauge
We investigate a dynamical mass generation mechanism for the off-diagonal gluons and ghosts in SU(N) Yang-Mills theories, quantized in the maximal Abelian gauge. Such a mass can be seen as evidence for the Abelian dominance in that gauge. It originates from the condensation of a mixed gluon-ghost operator of mass dimension two, which lowers the vacuum energy
