1. A compilation of longevity data in decapod crustaceans
Abstract Longevity information was collected from 219 literature sources for 244 decapod crustaceans, representing 1.7% of species, 4.8% of genera and 30% of families. Reliable methods of age determination (laboratory rearing, mark-recapture method, growth models, lipofuscin method) revealed longevities from 0.1 to 72 years, corresponding to a 700-fold diffe

2. Morphological sexual maturity of the freshwater anomuran crab Aegla parana (Crustacea, Decapoda, Aeglidae) from Negro River Sub-basin, Upper Iguaçu Basin, southern Brazil

3. Heart rate responses to different temperatures in juvenile Poppiana dentata ( )

4. Extension range of four species of freshwater crabs (Decapoda: Trichodactylidae) in the state of Maranhão, Northeastern Brazil
Abstract The present study provides a list of the freshwater crab species of the family Trichodactylidae recorded from the state of Maranhão, northeastern Brazil, along with information about their distribution. Eight streams were sampled with dip nets, sieves, gill nets, and drag nets. Four species were found: Dilocarcinus septemdentatus (Herbst, 1783), Go

5. Aegla chilota, new species of anomuran freshwater crab from Chiloé Island, western Patagonia
Abstract We describe a new species of freshwater crab, Aegla chilota, from two small streams at Yaldad Bay, in the southern end of Chiloé Island, western Patagonia. The new taxon is distinguished from the remaining Chilean species of Aegla Leach, 1820 by the following morphological diagnostic features: rostrum neatly triangular, short, scarcely surpassing e

6. Freshwater crabs (Decapoda: Brachyura: Pseudothelphusidae, Trichodactylidae) from the state of Roraima, Brazil: species composition, distribution and new records
ABSTRACT: The species composition and distribution of the pseudothelphusid and trichodactylid freshwater crabs from the state of Roraima, Brazil, are updated based mainly on documented records deposited in the collections of the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia (Manaus) and the Museu Integrado de Roraima (Boa Vista). This paper provides records f

7. First record of Grapsus grapsus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Brachyura: Decapoda: Grapsidae) in freshwater habitat
Abstract The sally lightfoot crab, Grapsus grapsus (Linnaeus, 1758), has been recorded from the oceanic islands off Brazil, as well as from the Caribbean, in coastal rocky shores in the Eastern Pacific, and in Galapagos. We report the first observation of G. grapsus in freshwater habitat, registered in a stream at Trindade Island, Brazil.

8. Taxonomy of the freshwater crab genus Neopseudothelphusa Pretzmann, 1965 (Decapoda: Brachyura: Pseudothelphusidae), with the description of a new genus
Abstract The taxonomy of the genus Neopseudothelphusa Pretzmann, 1965 is revised based on the morphology of the male first gonopod. A new genus, Culterthelphusa, is here proposed to receive Neopseudothelphusa simoni (Rathbun, 1905), while the genus Neopseudothelphusa is restricted to its type species, Neopseudothelphusa fossor (Rathbun, 1898). 9. Potamonautes gorongosa, a new species of potamonautid freshwater crab (Decapoda, Brachyura) from Mozambique, southeastern Africa
Abstract A new species of the freshwater crab genus Potamonautes MacLeay, 1838, is described from Gorongosa National Park in Sofala Province, Mozambique, southern Africa. Potamonautes gorongosa, new species, is morphologically and phylogenetically distinct from the other species of Potamonautes found in Mozambique and nearby countries, and is most closely re

10. Sundathelphusa tuerkayi, a new species of gecarcinucid freshwater crab (Crustacea: Brachyura) from Lombok Island, Indonesia
Abstract A new species of the freshwater crab genus Sundathelphusa Bott, 1969 is described from the Indonesian island of Lombok. Sundathelphusa tuerkayi, new species, appears to be most closely related to Sundathelphusa aruana (Roux, 1911), which is known for certain only from the Aru Islands, but differs from it and all other congeners by a unique combinati

11. A proposal to synonymize the freshwater crab Hypolobocera olgaluciae Ramos-Tafur and Ríos, 2007 with Hypolobocera buenaventurensis (Rathbun, 1905) from Colombia(Crustacea: Decapoda: Pseudothelphusidae)
ABSTRACT Hypolobocera olgaluciae Ramos-Tafur and Ríos, 2007 is considered herein as junior synonym of H. buenaventurensis (Rathbun, 1905) taking into account that the morphological differences on the first male gonopod are not significant and are the consequence of natural variations of the populations. The first male gonopod of H. buenaventurensis is redes

12. Shape and size variations of Aegla uruguayana (Anomura, Aeglidae) under laboratory conditions: A geometric morphometric approach to the growth
Crustacean growth studies typically use modal analysis rather than focusing on the growth of individuals. In the present work, we use geometric morphometrics to determine how organism shape and size varies during the life of the freshwater crab, Aegla uruguayana Schmitt, 1942. A total of 66 individuals from diverse life cycle stages were examined daily and e
