13. Mechanical properties and morphological characteristics of ARALL reinforced with TRGO doped epoxy resin
ABSTRACT Mechanical properties in tension, bending, fatigue and lap-shear in two different proportions (0.5%wt and 1%wt) of TRGO (Thermally Reduced Graphite Oxide) doped ARALL (Aramid Aluminium Laminate) were examined. The materials and their failure modes were characterized morphologically by examination through SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy). Some mech

15. The Influence and Mechanism of Residual Stress on the Corrosion Behavior of Welded Structures
To study the influence of residual stress on the corrosion behavior of welded structures, methods such as residual stress measurement, microstructure observation, and corrosion morphology observation were used. The energy transformation model and corrosion-resistance constant model were utilized to reveal the mechanism of residual stress on the welded struct

17. Monitoring reinforcement corrosion of concretes designed for nuclear facilitie
ABSTRACT The facilities designed for the peaceful activities of nuclear energy are made with different materials, among them, reinforced concrete. This material, in addition to being structural, is a barrier for isolation and confinement from the environment of the radioactive materials. One of its degradation mechanisms is the corrosion of the reinforcement

18. Aging simulation of the tailings from Stava fluorite extraction by exposure to gamma rays
Abstract Tailings storage facilities are disposal systems for storing the waste products of the mining industry consisting of a slurry mixture made of soil, rock and water that remain after the mineral values have been removed from the patent ore. Tailings dams are supposed to last forever, so after their deposition, tailings can experience aging processes w

19. Dentin pretreatment and adhesive temperature as affecting factors on bond strength of a universal adhesive system
Abstract Objectives: To evaluate the effects of dentin pretreatment and temperature on the bond strength of a universal adhesive system to dentin. Material and Methods: Ninety-six extracted non-carious human third molars were randomly divided into 12 groups (n=8) according to Scotchbond Universal Adhesive (SbU) applied in self-etch (SE) and etch-and-rinse

20. Surface Modification of Ti6Al4V Alloy by Pulsed Lasers: Microstructure and Hydrophobic Behavior
In many aerospace applications, it is important to produce hydro-repellent surfaces because water and ice accumulation could lead to malfunctioning of the part or component with a potential critical failure. In this study, it was investigated the texturing of a titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) by applying a pulsed Nd:YAG laser, aimed at the surface characterization

21. Tensile properties of novel carbon/glass hybrid thermoplastic composite rods under static and fatigue loading
ABSTRACT Novel carbon/glass hybrid thermoplastic composite rods have been developed consisting of a PAN-based carbon fiber, an E-glass fiber, and a thermoplastic matrix. Three types of hybrid rods with different carbon/glass ratios were then fabricated. The surface and cross-sectional morphologies of the hybrid rods were observed using a digital microscope.

22. Análisis de falla de los bujes del tornillo de una extrusora utilizada para procesar pintura en polvo
ABSTRACT This article aims to present the failure analysis of extruder screw bushings used for the manufacture of powder paint. Two bushings, one from the transition zone and one from the metering zone were selected to carry out the study. Chemical composition and microstructural analysis, hardness testing and a detailed analysis of the failed surfaces by vi

23. Evaluation of hydrogen-Induced cracking resistance of the In625 laser coating system on a C-Mn steel substrate
Abstract The corrosion of C-Mn steels in the presence of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) represents a significant challenge to oil production and natural gas treatment facilities. The failure mechanism induced by hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC) in a Inconel 625 coating / C-Mn steel has not been extensively investigated in the past. In the present work, an API 5CT ste

24. Time to task failure of the contralateral untrained limb after high load-low repetition eccentric and low load-high repetition resistance training
Abstract Aims: Cross-training is the process whereby training of one limb gives rise to enhancements in the performance of the opposite, untrained limb and may be dependent on type of muscle contractions performed. The aim of this study was to investigate whether unilateral resistance training using eccentric contraction is more effective than concentric res
