1. Dynamic Arrays Based on Magnetically Controlled Particles: Synthesis and Application
Growth mechanisms of dynamic granular arrays based on magnetically controlled particles are presented. Method of the external rotating magnetic field (ERMF), based on a dipole interaction of magnetic spherical Fe3O4 particles in highly ordered volume arrays is proposed and a design for its practical implementation is developed. The magnetic assembly can resu

2. Investigation of Thermal Effects in Coaxial Probe Method and Dielectric Characterization of Glycerol up to 140°C
Abstract Dielectric properties of a material are of paramount importance in many areas of knowledge. All scientific fields that deal with the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with matter demand this information. Consequently, suitable methods for obtaining accurate dielectric data are required. In the microwave community, the dielectric metrology wit

4. Development of a microwave absorbing material based on molybdenum-doped niobium pentoxide
Abstract This work aimed to perform the characterization of electrical properties of niobium pentoxide, Nb2O5, pure and doped with molybdenum, prepared by powder metallurgy route and to do a comparative analysis of the influence of this material when sintered in a muffle or in a microwave oven. The results showed that the doping of the niobium pentoxide with

5. Design of Microwave Absorbers using Improvised Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm
Abstract Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm has been applied in electromagnetics to design microwave absorbers. Generally, microwave absorbers are used for absorbing the electromagnetic radiation caused due to numerous electronic equipments and is being extensively used in stealth technology. The main aim of this paper is to find and analyze the min

6. Investigation of Electromagnetic Radiation Emission during Sheet Metal Incremental Micro Forming
Edge dislocations within the plastic zone ahead of a crack tip form accelerated electric line dipoles which give rise to the electromagnetic radiation (EMR) emissions in metal and alloys. This paper reports an experimental investigation to determine EMR radiation during incremental microforming of a thin aluminum sheet. The EMR signals emit from aluminum gra

7. Improvement of Circularly Polarized Slot-Patch Antenna Parameters by Using Electromagnetic Band Gap Structures
Abstract This paper is devoted to the design of a novel Electromagnetic Band Gap (EBG) circularly polarized slot-patch antenna in multilayered configuration. The operating frequency band can be controlled via the disk radius and adjusting the slit lengths. An arrangement combining the circular slot-patch antenna design and feeding sources included are consid

8. Comparative analysis of different doses of coherent light (laser) and non-coherent light (light-emitting diode) on cellular necrosis and apoptosis: a study in vitro
Introduction Threshold doses of electromagnetic radiation can initiate necrosis and apoptosis in cells. The purpose of this study was to evaluate cellular apoptosis and necrosis immediately (t0) and 24 hours (t24) after irradiation with different doses of coherent light (laser) or non-coherent light (LED). Methods CHO-K1 lineage cells were irradiated with

9. NUMERICAL MODELING OF HEAVY HYDROCARBON LIQUID HEATING
Abstract The results of two-dimensional mathematical modeling of heat and mass transfer in a highly viscous hydrocarbon liquid by inductive and radio-frequency (RF) electromagnetic (EM) heating are presented. The model takes into account the dependence of the liquid's viscosity and thermal conductivity on the temperature and also the presence of thermal conv

10. A robust fully automatic lumen segmentation method for in vivo intracoronary optical coherence tomography
Abstract Introduction: Intravascular optical coherence tomography (IVOCT) is an in-vivo imaging modality based on the introduction of a catheter in a blood vessel for viewing its inner wall using electromagnetic radiation. One of the most developed automatic applications for this modality is the lumen area segmentation, however on the evaluation of these me

11. The effect of prenatal exposure to 1800 MHz electromagnetic field on calcineurin and bone development in rats
PURPOSE: To investigated the effects of exposure to an 1800 MHz electromagnetic field (EMF) on bone development during the prenatal period in rats. METHODS: Pregnant rats in the experimental group were exposed to radiation for six, 12, and 24 hours daily for 20 days. No radiation was given to the pregnant rats in the control group. We distributed the new

12. Cell phone radiation effects on cytogenetic abnormalities of oral mucosal cells
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of exposure to cell phone electromagnetic radiation on the frequency of micronuclei, broken eggs cells, binucleated cells, and karyorrhexis in epithelial cells of the oral mucosa. The sample was composed of 60 cell phone users, who were non-smokers and non-drinkers, and had no clinically visible oral lesions.
