25. Synthesis, Characterization, and Photocatalytic Activity of Pure and N-, B-, or Ag- Doped TiO2
This article reports the synthesis and characterization of pure and N-, B-, and Ag-doped TiO2 and the ability of these oxides to photodegrade methylene blue (MB) under sunlight or UV-ABC radiation. The compounds were synthesized using the sol-gel method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, Fo

26. Relative Performance of Three Mesh-Reduction Methods in Predicting Mode III Crack-Tip Singularity
Abstract Due to their robustness in handling the inherent singularity difficulties associated with crack analysis, mesh-reduction methods present an avalanche of formulations in the literature which, sometimes, entails modifications to their conventional/standard forms for better results. Although such formulations provide a pool of alternative choices to th

27. A Straightforward Method for Determination of Al and Na in Aluminosilicates Using ICP OES
The improvements on aluminosilicates dissolution through microwave-assisted acid decomposition procedures for Na and Al quantification by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES) are reported here. Complete dissolution of the samples is achieved employing 4 mL of HNO3 and 3-4 mL of HF thus reducing the total amount of these reactant

28. REACTION KINETICS OF OZONE GAS IN WHEAT FLOUR
ABSTRACT The implementation of the ozonation process in the milling industry to control insect pests and improve wheat flour qualities requires understanding the behavior of ozone during ozonation. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the reaction kinetics of ozone gas in wheat flour. Wheat flour ozonation at concentrations of 0.54, 1.07, 1.61 and 2.14

29. A Simple and Fast Method for Magnetic Solid Phase Extraction of Ochratoxin A
We report on the synthesis of dopamine loaded magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) for new, simple, fast and repeatable extraction of ochratoxin A from different solvents and milk without utilizing immunoaffinity columns and even high-tech devices. To this end, Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized using thermal decomposition reaction and dopamine (DPA) was th

30. In Situ Photoactivated Plasmonic Ag3PO4@silver as a Stable Catalyst With Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity Under Visible Light
Silver orthophosphate (Ag3PO4) had been reported as an excellent candidate to split water or decompose pollutants with high efficiency in visible light region, yet is not stable due to the reduction of silver ion. In this work, an easy-fabricated method (in situ photoinduced reduction) was provided to enhance the stability of Ag3PO4 for its possible applicat

31. Decomposição ácida assistida por ultrassom para a determinação de Cu, Fe, Mg e Zn por F AAS em cerâmicas de uso doméstico
This paper describes a sample preparation method for domestic ceramics, based on the acid decomposition assisted by ultrasound for further determination of Cu, Fe, Mg and Zn by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry technique. The main optimized conditions were: particle size (25 µm); sample mass (25 mg) and the acid volume (0.5 mL of HNO3 and 0.5 mL of HF).

32. Analysis of Spinodal Decomposition in Al-Zn and Al-Zn-Cu Alloys Using the Nonlinear Cahn-Hilliard Equation
The phase field model based on the nonlinear Cahn-Hilliard equation was applied to analyze the spinodal decomposition process in Al-Zn and Al-Zn-Cu alloys. Partial differential equations were solved using the explicit finite difference method for the Al- 20, and 35 at. % Zn alloys aged at temperatures between 25 and 100 °C for times from 10 s to 2000 s and

33. Geophysical investigation of earth dam using the electrical tomography resistivity technique
Abstract Dams are structures that dam rivers and streams for a variety of purposes. These structures often need to be sturdy to withstand the force of the impoundment and the high values of accumulated water load. The constant maintenance of these structures is essential, since a possible accident can lead to damage of catastrophic proportions. This research

36. Fault Detection in High Speed Helical Gears Considering Signal Processing Method in Real Simulation
Abstract In the present study, in order to detect the fault of the gearmeshs, two engaged gears based on research department of a major automotive company have been modeled. First off, by using the CATIA software the fault was induced to the output gear. Then, the faulty gearmesh and non-faulty gearmesh is modeled to find the fault pattern to predict and est
