1. Scelianoma elydimorpha, a new genus and new species of entimine weevil from southwestern Puerto Rico (Coleoptera: Curculionidae, Entiminae)
Scelianoma elydimorpha Franz & Girón, new genus and new species, an entimine weevil endemic to southwestern Puerto Rico, is described and illustrated in detail, and assigned to the tribe Eustylini (Curculionidae: Entiminae). Scelianoma is distinguished from related taxa by the following diagnostic features: shape narrowly elongate, length/width ratio 2.8-3.

2. Estudo experimental de consolos de concreto com fibras moldados em etapas distintas dos pilares / Experimental research of reinforced fiber concrete corbels shaped in distinct stage to the column
The industrial production of traditional corbel presents some difficulties due to the great quantity of reinforcement in a small space. Beyond the main bars, it is generally used vertical and horizontal stirrups. This experimental study proposes a corbel shaped in the prior stage to the column, with the reinforcement and surfaces prepared to the later connec

3. Estudo da continuidade em ligações laje-viga-pilar em estruturas pré-moldadas de concreto
The present research deals with the study of continuity in slab-beam-column connections in precast concrete structures, wherein an experimental investigation about the contribution of longitudinal reinforced bars, passing on the side of the column in the top of the slab, on the connector flexural stiffness. For this study, a beam-to-column connection was sel

4. Role of gelatinases MMP-2 and MMP-9 in tissue remodeling following acute lung injury
Acute lung injury is characterized by a severe disruption of alveolo-capillary structures and includes a variety of changes in lung cell populations. Evidence suggests the occurrence of rupture of the basement membranes and interstitial matrix remodeling during acute lung injury. The dynamic equilibrium of the extracellular matrix (ECM) under physiological c

6. Identification of dye-sensitive strains of Brucella melitensis.
Strains of Brucella melitensis biovars 1, 2, and 3 isolated in India, Italy, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the Federal Republic of Germany, and Zimbabwe were inhibited by thionin (20 micrograms/ml) but not by basic fuchsin (20 micrograms/ml) or safranin O (200 micrograms/ml). In other respects the strains were typical of their species and biovars. The existence of d

7. BEN/SC1/DM-GRASP, a homophilic adhesion molecule, is required for in vitro myeloid colony formation by avian hemopoietic progenitors.
BEN/SC1/DM-GRASP is a membrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily isolated in the chick by several groups, including ours. Its expression is strictly developmentally regulated in several cell types of the nervous and hemopoietic systems and in certain epithelia. Each of these cell types expresses isoforms of BEN which differ by their level of N-g

8. Two-Component Transcriptional Regulation of N-Acyl-Homoserine Lactone Production in Pseudomonas aureofaciens
Production of phenazine antibiotics by the biological control bacterium Pseudomonas aureofaciens 30-84 is regulated in part by the PhzI/PhzR N-acyl-homoserine lactone (AHL) response system (L. S. Pierson III, V. D. Keppenne, and D. W. Wood, J. Bacteriol. 176:3966–3974, 1994; D. W. Wood and L. S. Pierson III, Gene 168:49–53, 1996). Two mutants, 30-84W and
