1. Checklist of marine demersal fishes captured by the pair trawl fisheries in Southern (RJ-SC) Brazil

Taxonomy and ecology of Copepoda Harpacticoida from sediments of Campos Basin Slope are presented here (chapter 1), as well as the description of threee new species of Echinopsyllus (chapter 2) and a discussion concerning new insights for geographic and bathyme tric distribution of Ancorabolidae (chapter 3). A total of 44 stations were sampled along nine tra

3. Sedimentary facies and provenance of the Bebedouro Formation, Neoproterozoic (BA) / Fácies sedimentares e proveniência da Formação Bebedouro, Neoproterozóico (BA)
The sedimentary record of Neoproterozoic age has become a major subject of research since the rebirth of the models of extreme glaciation and rapid climatic changes for the period, including the Snowball Earth hypothesis. These models are founded on the identification, in all continents, of Neoproterozoic diamictites directly overlain by carbonates, which ar

4. Feições fisiográficas submarinas da plataforma continental do Rio Grande do Norte visíveis por imagens de satélite / Underwater physiography of the continental shelf of Rio Grande do Norte visible through satellite imagery
This work introduces visible TM-Landsat imagery as an effective tool for the investigation of underwater physiography on a regional scale, down to 35 m depth, with a resolution of 30 m, on highly reflective seabed on continental shelves with highly transparent waters. The choice of the State of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, as the main survey area was dictate

6. Feições fisiográficas submarinas da plataforma continental do Rio Grande do Norte visíveis por imagens de satélite / Underwater physiography of the continental shelf of Rio Grande do Norte visible through satellite imagery

7. Diversity of Nitrous Oxide Reductase (nosZ) Genes in Continental Shelf Sediments
Diversity of the nitrous oxide reductase (nosZ) gene was examined in sediments obtained from the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean continental shelves. Approximately 1,100 bp of the nosZ gene were amplified via PCR, using nosZ gene-specific primers. Thirty-seven unique copies of the nosZ gene from these marine environments were characterized, increasing the n
