13. The effect of nanodiamonds on candida albicans adhesion and surface characteristics of PMMA denture base material - an in vitro study
Abstract Candida albicans is the main causative pathogen of denture stomatitis, which affects many complete denture patients. Objective: To evaluate the effect of different concentrations of nanodiamonds (NDs) added to polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) denture base material on Candida albicans adhesion as well as on surface roughness and contact angle. Methodol

14. The Wear Performance of Glazed and Polished Full Contour Zirconia

15. Plastics floatability: effect of saponin and sodium lignosulfonate as wetting agents
Abstract Froth flotation is the most common process in mineral processing. For the separation of plastic mixtures by flotation, the use of appropriate wetting agents is mandatory. The floatability of six post-consumer plastics was studied at different concentrations of the wetting agents, saponin and sodium lignosulfonate. Also, the influence of size and sha

16. Does the Use of Adjuvants Alter Surface Tension and Contact Angle of Herbicide Spray Droplets on Leaves of Sida spp.?
O experimento f

17. Characterization of Ti-35Nb alloy surface modified by controlled chemical oxidation for surgical implant applications
ABSTRACT Titanium-Niobium alloys have been studied for biomedical applications due to their satisfactory biocompatibility. In order to improve the long-term implantation, surface modification techniques have been developed to generate suitable topography, roughness, chemical composition, surface energy, etc. Considering this approach, the present work aimed

18. Síntesis y caracterización de un novedoso biomaterial a base de quitosano modificado con aminoácidos
ABSTRACT The chemical modification of chitosan (CH) from shrimp shells (Litopenaeus vannamei) was performed with amino acids: L-leucine (Leu) and L-tyrosine (Tyr), in order to change some of its physical and chemical properties, which allow the enhancement of the applications of chitosan in biomedical and pharmacological areas. The characterization of chitos

19. Effect of Pesticide Addition Sequence on the Preparation of Phytosanitary Spray Solutions

20. Polyethersulfone Hollow Fiber Membranes Developed for Oily Emulsion Treatment
Polyethersulfone (PES) hollow fiber membranes were produced, containing 3% of two types of clay (Brasgel PA - MMT and Cloisite NA - CLNa), in order to modify the characteristics of the polyethersulfone membrane. By means of the X-ray diffraction, it was possible to observe an exfoliated and/or partially exfoliated structure in the membranes containing clay.

22. Superhydrophobic silicon fabricated by phosphomolybdic acid-assisted electrochemical etching
Controllable geometry silicon surfaces with superhydrophobicity are difficult to be fabricated without photolithography techniques. Superhydrophobic silicon surfaces with water contact angle larger than 150º and sliding angle less than 10º have been successfully fabricated by electrochemical etching strategy. Squarelike hole arrays with controllable geomet

23. Investigation of the Wettability Using Contact Angle Measurements of Green Polyethylene Flat Films and Expanded Vermiculite Clay Treated by Plasma
Polyethylene (PE) is a polymer that has a low adhesion property, which is related to its low surface energy. However, the plasma treatment aims the modification of the surface properties without affecting the polymer structure. In this sense, the objective of this work was to prepare biocomposite films via flat extrusion with Green PE matrix and Expanded Ver

24. Electrospinning synthesis and assessment of physicochemical properties and biocompatibility of cobalt nitrate fibers for wound healing applications
Abstract: The aim of this study was to develop polyurethane (PU) wound dressing incorporated with cobalt nitrate using electrospinning technique. The morphology analysis revealed that the developed composites exhibited reduced fiber and pore diameter than the pristine PU. The electrospun membranes exhibited average porosity in the range of 67% - 71%. Energy-
