13. Spatial distribution of the estuarine ichthyofauna of the Rio Formoso (Pernambuco, Brazil), with emphasis on reef fish
The objectives of the present study were to identify species of reef fish that use the Rio Formoso estuary (northeastern Brazil) as a refuge and natural nursery and to describe the spatial distribution of the estuary fish fauna in rainy and dry seasons. A total of 5475 specimens, across 78 species and 39 families, were analyzed; 51.3% of the species were of

14. ResÃduos sÃlidos bentÃnicos em ambientes recifais de Pernambuco e na abordagem das operadoras de mergulho
Benthic marine debris are those debris deposited on the bottom of the oceans. Studies of this type of pollutant are still scarce all over the world, both about the qualiquantification, as well as about the understanding of how social actors linked to the marine environment are behaving on this issue. Thus, this study aimed to qualiquantify the benthic marine

20. Degradation of Starch–Poly(β-Hydroxybutyrate-Co-β-Hydroxyvalerate) Bioplastic in Tropical Coastal Waters
Extruded bioplastic was prepared from cornstarch or poly(β-hydroxybutyrate-co-β-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) or blends of cornstarch and PHBV. The blended formulations contained 30 or 50% starch in the presence or absence of polyethylene oxide (PEO), which enhances adherence of starch granules to PHBV. Degradation of these formulations was monitored for 1 year
