1. Two methods for solving electrostatic problems with azimuthal symmetry
Abstract The study of electrostatic phenomena is the gateway to the physics described by Classical Electrodynamics. In this paper, we discuss in detail two methods based on the Uniqueness Theorem for solving electrostatic problems with azimuthal symmetry. The first one is the electrostatic potential extension from the axis of symmetry to an arbitrary point.

2. Estudo da inversão de carga em filmes de Langmuir / Study of the charge inversion in Langmuir films.
The study of charged interfaces is important for understanding several phenomena in polymer and colloid science, as well as in molecular biology. Even though this topic has benn extensively investigated, there are many open issues, such as details of ion-ion interactions. In this context, this work investigates charge inversion in Langmuir films of DMPA (dim

3. Estrutura eletronica e polarizabilidades de betainas
This thesis is dedicated to a theoretical study of the electronic structure and optical properties of betaine molecules carried at the semiempirical and ab initio levels. The charge distribution, the dipole moment and the linear (a) and first nonlinear (Ã) polarizabilities of a total of 66 betaine molecules belonging to 6 different families were calculated.

4. Electropedopisition and characterization the SnZn alloy on glass carbon / EletrodeposiÃÃo e caracterizaÃÃo de Ligas SnZn sobre carbono vÃtreo
Eutectic SnPb solder alloys have widely been used in the assembly of modern electronic devices. However, because lead and its compounds are known to be toxic to the human body and cause serious environmental problems. A substitute weld would be a alloy binary SnZn, theme of study of this work. The voltammetry results suggest that SnZn in both electroplated a

5. Supercondutividade nodal em metais de transição dicalcogenados
We investigate the macroscopic effects of charge density waves (CDW) and superconductivity in layered superconducting systems with broken lattice inversion symmetry (allowing for piezoelectricity) such as two dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD). We work with the low temperature time dependent Ginzburg-Landau theory and study the coupling

6. Estudo de ordenamento multipolar eletrico de holmio por difração de raios-X
Multipolar ordering in metallic holmium 4f shell was extensively studied for the first time, by resonant and non resonant X-ray scattering at the helical antiferromagnetic and conical ferromagnetic phases. The strong spin-orbit coupling drives the multipolar order as it was experimentally confirmed through the temperature dependence of the ordering wave-vect

7. Filme fino de ZrO2 enxertado sobre a superfície de sílica gel: preparação e propriedade de adsorção de Cr(VI)
The present experiment describes an easy procedure for obtaining SiO2/ZrO2 by reacting ZrOCl2 with SiO2 with the following characteristics: S BET = 500 m² g-1 and an average pore diameter of 6 nm. The material obtained presented 1.3 wt% ZrO2 content corresponding to 140 mumol g-1. The average density of ZrO2 onto SiO2/ZrO2 matrix is 2.8x10-11 mol cm-2. The

8. Condutividade e movimento de carga espacial em amostras desordenadas / Conductivity and charge displacement in disordered samples
Dispersive conductive process are characterized by non-exponential residence times of the hopping carrier. As a consequence, hereditary effects appear and the problem must be conducted in the Laplace space. A bunch of known dielectric distributions functions and others were used as possible functions describing the disordered medium. A careful study of their

9. Alguns aspectos de reatividade nucleofilica nas reações de substituição nucleofilica aromatica
In extension of earlier research on the strength of nucleophiles in SNAr reactions, studies have been made of: (i) the reactivity in MeOH of the more important pseudohalide ions, using methoxide ion as reference nucleophile; (ii) the scope of the occurrence of the a-effect, and its magnitude; (iii) the quantitative effects of solvent changes. Thermochemical

10. Molecular mechanism of signal sequence orientation in the endoplasmic reticulum
We have analyzed in vivo how model signal sequences are inserted and oriented in the membrane during cotranslational integration into the endoplasmic reticulum. The results are incompatible with the current models of retention of positive flanking charges or loop insertion of the polypeptide into the translocon. Instead they indicate that these N-terminal si

11. Electrorotation of colloidal particles and cells depends on surface charge.
The importance of surface conductivity to the frequency-dependent polarizability and the rotation of particles in circular electric fields (electrorotation) is emphasized by various theoretical and experimental investigations. Although surface conductivity seems to be naturally related to the ionic double layer, there is rare experimental evidence of a direc

12. Two-stage dynamic DNA quality check by xeroderma pigmentosum group C protein
Xeroderma pigmentosum group C (XPC) protein initiates the DNA excision repair of helix-distorting base lesions. To understand how this versatile subunit searches for aberrant sites within the vast background of normal genomic DNA, the real-time redistribution of fluorescent fusion constructs was monitored after high-resolution DNA damage induction.
