13. Eletrodos modificados com monocamadas auto-organizadas de alcanotióis: uma abordagem sobre a transferência eletrônica / Electrode surface modified with alkanothiols self-assembled monolayers: an electron transfer approach
The modification of electrode surfaces with self-assembled monolayer (SAM) is one of the top subjects in electrochemistry and electroanalysis, mainly due to its much enhanced biocompatibility. In this study, the focuses are centered in the electron transfer through SAMs of alkanothiols assembled onto gold electrode surfaces. In order to investigate the elect

14. Estudos estruturais de histatina-5 e seu análogo, TOAC0-histatina-5: interação com metais e sistemas biomiméticos / Structural studies of Histatin-5 and its analogue, TOAC0-Histatin-5: interaction with metals and biomimetic systems
The mechanism of action of histatin-5 (Hst-5), an antifungal antimicrobial peptide from human saliva is not completely clarified. Circular dichroism (CD), fluorescence, and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) were used to examine the conformational behavior of Hst-5 and its analogue containing the paramagnetic amino acid TOAC at the N-terminus (TOAC0-Hst-5

15. Vacancies in carbon nanotubes: electronic, structural and transport properties / Vacâncias em nanotubos de carbono: propriedades eletrônicas, estruturais e de transporte
The main purpose of this dissertation is the study of the electronic and structural properties in the presence of different types of vacancies, in one of the most promising materials for nanoelectronics, carbon nanotubes. The defects studied in this work are monovacancy and multivacancies in (5, 5) armchair carbon nanotubes. For that purpose perform quantum

16. PROPRIEDADES DE TRANSPORTE DE SISTEMAS NANOSCÓPICOS: ÁTOMOS E MOLÉCULAS / TRANSPORT PROPERTIES OF NANOSCOPIC SYSTEMS: ATOMS AND MOLECULES
In this work we study the electronic transport in atomic and molecular structures. By using the Green´s function method, we address the problem of the electron-electron and electron-phonon interactions and their effects on the conductance of the system. We present a detailed study of the regime where these two interactions are simultaneously important and s

This study is a critical discourse analysis of electronic political cartoons on the first round of the 2006 presidential elections. Thus, five texts, published on the site www.charges.com.br in August and September were chosen. The theoretical framework for this study is Critical Discourse Analysis, based mainly upon work by Fairclough (1992; 2003) and Choul

18. Estrutura eletronica e polarizabilidades de betainas
This thesis is dedicated to a theoretical study of the electronic structure and optical properties of betaine molecules carried at the semiempirical and ab initio levels. The charge distribution, the dipole moment and the linear (a) and first nonlinear (Ã) polarizabilities of a total of 66 betaine molecules belonging to 6 different families were calculated.

19. Thermoluminescence, electron paramagnetic resonance and color centers properties of diopside / Propriedades de termoluminescência, de ressonância paramagnética eletrônica e de centros de cor de diopsídio
Diopside of chemical formula, CaMgSi2O6, a natural silicate mineral has been investigated concerning its Thermoluminescence (TL), Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) and Reflectance properties. Synthetic, pure or doped diopside, produced in the laboratory, has been investigated. Samples annealed at 600 `GRAUS´ C for one hour, to eliminate previously induc

20. Aplicação do modelo carga-fluxo de dipolo para calcular e interpretar as intensidades no espectro infravermelho dos fluoroclorometanos / Application of the charge-charge flux-dipole model to calculate and interpret the infrared intensities of the fluorochlorolethanes

22. Silicon-based spin and charge quantum computation

24. Espectroscopia vibracional, Raman ressonante e eletrônica de nitroderivados em sistemas conjugados / Vibrational, resonance Raman and electronic spectroscopies of nitroderivatives in conjugated systems
