1. Self-Assembled Nanoparticles of Diruthenium(II,III)-Ibuprofen Anticancer Metallodrug
The diruthenium(II,III)-ibuprofen (RuIbp) metallodrug shows anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. The encapsulation into lipid nanoparticles enhanced the efficacy in glioblastoma, breast and prostate cancer cells. Here we report data for RuIbp hydrophobicity, solubility in alcohol/water, and behavior in 1-5% ethanol/water and ethanol/cell culture medium.

2. Enhanced Accumulation of Scopoletin in Cell Suspension Culture of Spilanthes acmella Murr. Using Precursor Feeding
In this study, the various concentrations of casein hydrolysate (25, 50, 75, 100 mg/L) and L-phenylalanine (50, 100, 150, 200 µM/l) were incorporated in MS containing 15 µM BA plus 5 µM 2,4-D for enhancement of secondary metabolites in cell culture of Spilanthes acmella. The presence of casein hydrolysate in the nutrient medium improved the growth of cell

3. Production of Lentiviral Vectors Encoding Recombinant Factor VIII Expression in Serum-Free Suspension Cultures
ABSTRACT Lentiviral vector-mediated gene transfer offers several advantages over other gene delivery vectors when considering gene and cell therapy applications. However, using these therapies in clinical applications involves large-scale vector production in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Here we describe a high yield production of a lentivirus enc

4. Evaluation of limonoid production in suspension cell culture of Citrus sinensis
ABSTRACTThe use of cell and plant tissue culture techniques to produce economically important active metabolites has been growing. Among these substances are total limonoid aglycones, which are produced by "pera" orange (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck, Rutaceae) and have received considerable attention because of their anticancer actions. The main objective of

6. Estudos iniciais de caracterização funcional de peroxidases e laccases potencialmente envolvidas no processo de lignificação em cana-de-açúcar / Initial studies on the functional characterization of peroxidases and laccases potentially involved in the lignification process in sugarcane
Lignin is a complex heteropolymer deposited in the secondarily thickened walls of specialized plant cells to provide strength and rigidity for plants to stand upright and hydrophobicity to conducting cells for long-distance water transport. Although lignin is essential for plant growth and development, this phenolic polymer is the major plant cell wall compo

7. Produção de carotenoides em culturas in vitro de Cleome rosea Vahl ex DC (Capparaceae) e avaliação de sua toxicidade e potencial antioxidante / Carotenoid production in vitro cultures of Cleome rosea Vahl ex DC (Capparaceae) and evaluation of toxicity and antioxidant potential.
The production and optimization of plants secondary metabolites with medicinal value have been achieved by using plant tissue culture techniques, which have showed great relevance when considering the conservation status of a species or their occurrence in degraded environments. The present study assessed the production of carotenoids in callus and cell susp

8. Obtenção de inoculante e de coquetel enzimático lignocelulolítico a partir de comunidades microbianas termofílicas / Acquisition of an inoculant and a lignocellulolytic enzymatic cocktail from thermophilic microbial communities
Three thermophilic lignocellulolytic microbial communities were selected by enriched method with continual subcultivation at 55 C. One community was selected from cow manure compost, another from decaying sugar cane bagasse, and the last one was obtained by mixing aliquots of the culture suspension from the first two. Those communities were able to degrade a

12. In Vitro Regeneration of Arachis Villosulicarpa Hoehne from Cotyledon Segments, Leaves and Cell Suspension.
In vitro regeneration from immature leaves and cotyledon segments of A. villosuli-carpa Hoehne was obtained on Murashige & Skoog medium (1962) plus 1.0 mg/l 1-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and 1.0 mg/l 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP). Cotyledon segments showed higher morphogenetic potential than immature leaves. Morphogenic calli could also be obtained from leaves
