1. O fator de transcrição AtbZIP63 como integrador de sinais energéticos e estresses biótico/abiótico / The transcription factor AtbZIP63 as a integrator of energetic signals and biotic/abiotic stresses

2. Envolvimento dos quatro genes bZIPs do Grupo C de Arabidopsis thaliana na sinalização por glicose, manose e ABA / Functional analysis of the Arabidopsis Group C bZIPs homologous to the maize Opaque-2 regulator
In the model eudicot organism A. thaliana (Arabidopsis), four genes encoding bZIP transcription regulatory factors that are homologous to the maize Opaque-2 (O2) locus were identified. O2 is a key regulator of the carbon to nitrogen balance and of the prolamine type storage proteins synthesis during seed development. The Arabidopsis genes, AtbZIP9, the two p

3. Expressão, purificação e caracterização estrutural dos fatores de transcrição bZIP SCF12 e SCF5 de cana-de-açucar / Expression, purification and structural characterization of the sugarcane bZIP transcription factors SCF12 and SCF5
The bZIP transcription factors are present in eukaryotic organisms and are involved in the regulation of gene expression and many intracellular processes. These factors bind specific DNA sequences and are able to recognize regulatory sequences of a gene promoter. The bZIPs are characterized by a conserved region rich in basic amino acid residues as well as b

4. Analise funcional do regulador de transcrição do tipo bZIP AtbZIP9 de Arabidopsis thaliana atraves da superexpressão de seus genes alvos / Fucntional characterization of the Arabidopsis thaliana bZIP transcription factor AtbZIP9 by overexpression of its target genes
Transcriptional regulatory factors (TFs) play an important role in controlling growth and development of ali organisms. bZIPs TFs have been described in ali eukaryotes and are characterized by a basic aminoacid rich DNA binding domain and a leucine zipper, responsible for dimerization. bZIPs have been reported to act in several different plantspecific proces

5. Structural analyses of rab family GTPases and mechanism of Mafb regulation by the protein TIPRL / Analises estruturais de GTPases da familia RAB e mecanismo de regulção de MAFB pela proteina TIPRL
GTPases of the Rab family are responsible for the intracellular transport of vesicles. Each family member acts on a specific transport pathway and their function is regulated by GTP binding and hydrolysis, cycling between inactive (GDP-bound) and active (GTP-bound) forms. In this work, we describe the crystal structure of inactive and active forms of the GTP

6. Estudo in silico de genes que codificam fatores de transcriÃÃo responsivos Ãseca, salinidade e congelamento nos genomas do eucalipto, cana e arroz
Abiotic stresses are the most responsable for causing changes in plant growth and development. The plants, in counterpart, make use of a variety of responses in order to maintain their metabolic and physiological processes. One of the main plants responses to environmental conditions alterations is the additional regulation of expression. Moreover, the biosy

7. Casein kinase II interacts with the bZIP domains of several transcription factors.
Casein kinase II (CKII) is thought to regulate a broad range of transcription factors, but its mode of action is not well characterized. We previously showed that CKII is co-purified with the ATF family of transcription factors using DNA-affinity latex beads. Here we report a functional and physical interaction between CKII and transcription factors. We demo

8. Transcriptional repression by a novel member of the bZIP family of transcription factors.
We describe here a novel member of the bZIP family of DNA-binding proteins, designated E4BP4, that displays an unusual DNA-binding specificity which overlaps that of the activating transcription factor family of factors. When expressed in a transient transfection assay with a suitable reporter plasmid, E4BP4 strongly repressed transcription in a DNA-binding-

9. A Conserved Upstream Open Reading Frame Mediates Sucrose-Induced Repression of TranslationW⃞
Sugars have been shown to regulate transcription of numerous genes in plants. Sucrose controls translation of the group S basic region leucine zipper (bZIP)-type transcription factor ATB2/AtbZIP11 (Rook et al., 1998a). This control requires the unusually long 5′ untranslated region (UTR) of the gene. Point mutations and deletions of the 5′UTR have uncove

10. The Vrille Gene of Drosophila Is a Maternal Enhancer of Decapentaplegic and Encodes a New Member of the Bzip Family of Transcription Factors
We report here the genetical and molecular characterization of a new Drosophila zygotic lethal locus, vrille (vri). vri alleles act not only as dominant maternal enhancers of embryonic dorsoventral patterning defects caused by easter and decapentaplegic (dpp) mutations, but also as dominant zygotic enhancers of dpp alleles for phenotypes in wing. The vri gen

11. Functional Analysis of Regulatory Elements in the Gene Promoter for an Abscission-Specific Cellulase from Bean and Isolation, Expression, and Binding Affinity of Three TGA-Type Basic Leucine Zipper Transcription Factors
Site-directed mutagenesis was used to identify cis-acting elements that control hormonal and abscission-specific expression of the bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) abscission cellulase (BAC) promoter. Auxin inhibition of BAC promoter expression is at least in part controlled by a negatively regulated element and ethylene induction by a positively regulated element.

12. Rice TATA Binding Protein Interacts Functionally with Transcription Factor IIB and the RF2a bZIP Transcriptional Activator in an Enhanced Plant in Vitro Transcription System
TATA binding protein (TBP) and transcription factor IIB (TFIIB) are key factors for the assembly of eukaryotic transcription initiation complexes. We used a rice whole-cell extract in vitro transcription system to characterize the functional interactions of recombinant plant TBP and TFIIB. Bacterially expressed rice TBP (OsTBP2) bound to the TATA box of the
